The night
When street lamps glow
And stars are on show
Which promise a better tomorrow.
Such are their lies,
When they say; "Look here,"
"Look at our light and our beauty"
"Our sparkle like that of a thousand diamonds,"
"We exist for you and you alone."
"For you are special."
To focused on the promise of the stars,
We forget the darkness which surrounds them.
They swim in it; drowning.
Much like I am drowning now.
For I see their lies,
Their taunts.
And the night, it suffocates me.
Because it is only at night when I remember
All the bad things.
And they trap me,
Isolate me,
And I am alone
To fight off this feeling
Which only ever returns stronger.
I fear the night,
When I sit on the floor
Wishing.
Just wishing
To those blasted stars.
Like a fool.
Like it could work.
Like I could feel alive again.
But I do not.
In the morning the stars are gone,
Their promice broken,
And my wishes lost with them.
Waiting for the night
To bring me my torment again.
