Sonic's POV
I yelped helplessly in pain as I was tossed roughly back into my dog cage by none other then Dr. Valentine.

I scrunched up my face in pain as I tried to roll up in my tight ball in the back corner of the cage like I always do, but whimpered when the pain in my stomach took over my body and kept me from doing so.

Today was absolutely atrocious.  This was possibly the worst day yet. I had been pinched, poked, stabbed, cut, yanked, pulled and anything else you could think of.

I let out a sigh of relief when the last scientist in the lab leaves and I whimper when shuts off the lights. I hate the dark but not because of the darkness itself but because of what lies in it.

My nightmares and other fears haunt me in the dark and I can not escape them. I close my eyes trying to ignore the darkness and focus on other things.

I finally decide to relax in my cage and finally loosen up my tension for a while. This was the only part of the day when I actually felt safe.

It was the time when the  buzzer goes off, signalizing the end of another work day and the end of another period of torture for me.

This was the time that I usually cry over the tragedies of today or  think about what my life use to like and how everything just disappeared in a flash right before my eyes.

Today was different though, I couldn't focus on my thoughts. The pain in my stomach began to grow, causing me to scream in pain at the feeling.

The pain grew more intense as it flooded up to my chest and, I began to scream and tense up into a ball despite the amount of how much it hurt.

My breath became hitched and labored as breathing became nearly impossible. I gagged and gasped and began to puke out a red substance all over my cage.
It felt like I was inhaling fire and spitting out smoke every time I tried to gasp and struggled for a breath.

I shivered and shook like a leaf as my body seemed to have lost all heat that it was producing.

I managed to kick out of my ball and flayed all my limbs out in different directions as I let out a high pitched scream.

My body began to twitch uncontrollably as I twisted and turned and rolled on my sides, my heart began to race as the pain grew more intense and flooded up to my head now.

A high pitched ringing, almost like a dog whistle, rang  in my sensitive ears making me scream even more.

My eyes burned with the lack of tears I was shedding. My body did not have enough fluids in it to make tears so they just became red and irritated.

My head began to pound as if a toddler was beating on it as if it was some sort of drum. The pain agonizing.

I sat up on my knees and pulled my hands up to head clawing at my ears ferociously trying to stop the ringing and yanking out my quills one by one as they fell out in small handfuls.

I was screaming and screaming...begging and pleading... hoping for the pain to stop.

I couldn't fight anymore, I gave up at that point and let the pain take over my body until the whole room went black. I fainted.

Shadow's POV
I was gliding down the hallways at top speed. Once I saw the last scientist leave the lab and lock up for the night I knew it was time to place my plan into action.

I had been following the sound of Faker's pained screams that seemed to grow with every second until I reached the doors that led to the last place where I saw him.

I grew curious and nervous as his screams of pain abruptly stopped and an unsettling silence filled the empty lab.

I pulled out a flashlight from my quills and began to search around the room for anything that would lead me to him.

I walked closer to the back of the lab where a large metal table and was stopped dead in my tracks. My breath hitched as I darted over to the table.

On top of the table was a small dog cage and inside the dog cage was the blue hedgie that I had been missing for so long.

I looked closer at the hedgie and noticed he wasn't moving. Using my abnormal amount of strength I broke the pad lock on his imprisonment like it was nothing and gently pulled him out and laid him gently on the floor.

I leaned down over him and tilted my head so my ear hovered slightly over his mouth. I listened quietly and sighed in relief once I felt and heard his breath in my ears. The relief didn't last long though when he began to breath heavily and started coughing up blood.

His breathing became more labored after that and his heart rate slowed. This was never a good sign for anyone so I immediately scooped him up in my arms and dashed out of the laboratory as fast as I could and headed to the nearest hospital.

As I ran I noticed his body tense up a bit and he started to shiver and cough again as rain started to pour down onto us. I sped up my pace further as I held him closer to my chest," Hang on Faker, we're almost there just a little bit further stay with me keep fighting!" I spoke to him to keep him conscious.

I heard a small groan as his response to what I was saying and also noticed his ear flick in my direction. This was enough to give me some hope as the hospital was now in my sights.

I bolted through the doors like a maniac and began yelling for assistance. "HELP HIM PLEASE HE IS SICK AND POSSIBLY DIEING!!"

Doctors and nurses flooded into the room and gently tried to lift him out of my arms but noticed that he wouldn't release the grip he had on my arms.

"N-No..." He managed to groan out before pulling himself closer to me. The doctors and  nurses where now antsy at Faker's behavior.

He was slowly slipping away from me as he began to cough more harshly and more blood leaked out of the side of his mouth, a doctor then walked up to me almost in a panic," Sir your gonna have to let him go, he will die if he doesn't get the proper treatment he needs as soon as possible!" I sighed and nodded as I along with three nurses pried the dying hedgehog out of my arms and into a gurney.

He whimpered and let a few tears roll down his cheeks as I heard him whimper," d-don't...let...them...t-take...me...away... Shad...ow" I gripped his hand before they pulled him away,"Don't worry yourself  Faker, I'll be right here waiting for you." I reassured his fading self as he was wheeled anyway into surgery. "I promise." was the last thing I said before looked down and began pacing the floor.
