These past couple of months have been very awkward indeed for me. Not to long ago, I remember when I overheard an alert coming from the scientists saying that the 'new subject' they had previously aquired was experiencing tantrums and trying to escape and to bring sedatives immediately for seduction.
I instantly grew curious about this new subject after that moment. Why you may ask? Well it's simply becasue of all the years that I have worked here none of their test subjects had ever tired to escape their testing, let alone put up a fight.
A year and a half had passed since then, and ever since then I have been sent on missions all over the place to fetch things from chemicals, to chaos knows what else for this little 'new subject' and now I have just received another call not to long ago to await for my next mission.
I waited in my room impatiently, as I leaned against my bedroom wall in my signature grimace with my arms folded over my chest.
I grumbled under my breath as I awaited for a call from my communicator to tell me what my next mission was. I had been waiting for a good half hour and was starting to get really impatient.
"Grrr stupid mortals curse their slow and timely ways! What could possibly be taking so long! What is so difficult about assigning a mission!"
I began to pace the floor back and forth, glancing at my communicator every now and then when finally...
*beep ~Calling Special Agent Shadow The Hedgehog report to Commander Tower's office to receive the information for your next mission...that is all~beep*
" Well it's about time!" I grumbled as I snatched up my helmet and other gear and dashed out of my room and down the hallway heading straight for the commander's office.
Once I reached the office I was greeted by two men in lab coats showing the Commander some sort of file. I cleared my throat to catch their attention as I walked inside his office,"Ahem, You wished to see me commander?"
The men in lab coats quickly halted their conversation and quickly closed up the file and held it out of my sight. I raised an eyebrow at this but then quickly put on my normal mask of appearance and pretend I didn't notice anything.
"Ahhh Agent Shadow welcome, and yes I did summon you. I am in need of a favor from you..." I crossed my arms and stood in my normal stance with a small hmph," And what is this 'favor' that you ask of me commander?" I ask putting emphasis on 'favor'.
"Well Shadow you are aware of the latest addition to our scientific studies I presume?" I nodded slightly," Yes, I am partly aware now get on with it I don't have all day." I huffed as leaned against the wall.
"Agent Shadow you have been chosen as a night watchman for the new experiment." I perked my ears to show that this caught my interest," And what issue does the laboratory have with this new experiment that requires me to be its watchman?" I groan as I try my hardest to not act too interested about the subject that the commander had brought up.
"We have noticed that the experiment has been attempting to escape and to ensure self- bodily harm to itself, so we need someone to watch it to make sure it survives till the next day to continue experimentation, and due to your experience and also since your body does not require much sleep to function properly we thought you would be perfect for this duty."
I groaned to try and show that I wasn't interested or pleased in this decision but inside I was burning with curiosity and questions. 'I think while I'm in there I'll do a little 'research' of my own to figure out what this new test subject is.'
I noodded at my own thoughts and redirected my attention back to the commander," very well, I shall babysit your pointless experiment. " the commander glared at me for my choice of words but then clapped his hands together as he rose out of his chair. " Excellent I will have the scientists lead the way to the room so you can see where the subject is located and then tonight you can begin your duty, you are all dismissed."
We then exited his office and began walking to the laboratory. 'I need to find some answers and this is the only way how.' I thought to myself as I followed the two scientists through a pair of white double doors that said 'laboratory' on them. 'Here we go!'
