Chapter 8

Shadow's POV
I don't think I have ever been so quite in my entire life. Ever since Sonic passed out from the pill I have tiptoed, whispered, and tried to refrain from making the least bit of sound. For what you may ask? So I don't wake up 'Sleeping Beauty' in my bed upstairs.

For some reason Sonic is a very light sleeper, he's even more worse then me and that is saying something. I have been known to wake up at a sneeze, or a door squeak due to my enhanced senses but Sonic is a thousand times worse.

For example, when I had awoken from the little break we had i was sort of stiff. As a result of this, I decided to wiggle out from underneath him and stretch to loosen myself up. This was a terrible idea on my part, becasue as soon as I lifted my hands to lift him up high enough so I could get out he started whimper and stir.

And don't even get me started about when we got home, that was three times more worse then the walk. I had finally managed to reach my front door and had to use one of my hands to turn the knob. So therefore I had to shift Sonic into a different hold with only one arm so I could have access of my other hand. The moment he felt the shift of movement though he began to unknowingly panic and scream and plead for "Stop it hurts!" or "No! Let me go I don't wanna go!"

His behavior was very strange and abnormal to me and that is why I am sitting on my couch now pondering on what my next move will be.

My mind jumped back to the events of this morning at the Commander's office. I recalled how those two scientists had scurried to hide a suspicious looking file that they were showing the Commander, and that made me curious.

What kind of secrets could the Commander be keeping from me, and also on that thought how and why do the scientists know. Maybe it's information involving the experimentation on Sonic or possibly important data on some top secret project.

Now my curiosity was peaked and I had to find out now. I got up to start scrounging around for answers almost immediately, that is until a certain thought knocked me back into reality. 'What about Sonic! '

I facepalmed at not thinking about bringing him into the equation. I sat back down on the couch and began thinking once more.

'Hmmm, I know Sonic won't want to step foot in that faculty again let alone be in its proximity so bringing him along is out of the question. Hmm maybe I could get someone to keep and eye on him. Yeah that could possibly work, I mean how long would it take to secretly sneak into a highly guarded government facility and steal top secret important government information? A simple fifteen minute walk in the park if your a genetically engineered ultimate lifeform who was built and trained for this very sort of situation.

But one problem still remains who should i get to watch him? Knuckles is to busy watching his hunk of green rock, Tails would be to emotionally shocked to hear that Sonic was alive let alone to pay attention long enough, Amy...well I don't even need to explain, there is really only one other person I can think of that won't totally wig out over this.'

So at this confirmation, I reached in my pocket for my cell phone and dialed the only number I had in my phone. I waited, rather impatiently if i might add, as I listened to the phone ringed three times before the familiar voice came on the line. "Rouge I need you to do something very important for me..."

Howdy guys I'm super super sorry for the short and also very late chapter. School and life has just been insane lately, but the weekend is finally here "hallelujah!" So expect more frequent updates and much bigger surprises. I can't wait to read about what you guys think and I thank all of y'all for all the reads,comments and likes I have been receiving. I appreciate everything and I'm really looking forward to finishing this story for y'all and writing many more. In fact I actually have a list of a ton of new stories that I have planned that i am very eager to get started on so yeah that is definitely something go look forward to.
