Chapter 18

Sonic's POV

Misery...pain...suffering...torture...agony...all these words and not one can describe how I feel right now. To be honest I don't know which is worse, the burning sensation the over head lamp that is producing a burning irritable sensation on my forehead, or the leather straps chafing my arms, legs and head. I think they both come to a tie when I talk about how terrified I am at this very moment but can anyone truly blame me?

I mean you look to one side of me and see a metal table filled with scalpels, syringes, sterilizers, scissors, and drugs that I can't even begin to name. Then you look to the other side of me and see a large pane of glass that I don't even know the purpose of because I can't see through it. Then you look above me, which I can barely do thanks to these stupid restraints, and you see some sort of x-ray machine I suppose that is constantly scanning me telling those scientists chaos knows what kind of information. If i was to put my current situation into a two word statement right now I would probably say that this is indeed a Mando problemo.

My eyes scanned the room, frantically looking for any means of exit, or anything that could aid me in understanding what in the mobius is going on! Unfortunately though not being able to see anything but white walls and a ceiling didn't help any.

My ear flicked when I heard the familiar sound of the doors to the lab opening and the faint tap of shoes on hard tile floor. My heart began to throb as a cold sweat emerged on my forehead. I listened carefully when I heard the shoe tapping stop and was replaced by voices.

"What is the current condition of the subject?" " Subject appears to be ill sir. He has lost a great amount of fluids, has a high temperature, is severely dehydrated and has purged several times since we brought him in." " Is that all? " " Y-yes sir would you like us to prolong the-" "No that is all I need good day." " But sir the subject-" " I said good day doctor now leave me be!" after that I heard two sets of footsteps one pair receding and the other pair approaching in my direction.

The moment the sound of the approaching steps stopped was the same moment of which the blinding light hindering my eyesight was replaced by a disgustingly familiar face. One that I would replace with by the light any day... Dr. Valentine.

His face was just as disturbing as ever as he hung over me like a dead branch. I felt like gagging as he breathed on me and my blood ran cold as I shivered when he opened his gnarly mouth to speak," Well well blue its nice to see that you've come back to us! Now we can continue with our little fun shall we? " he chuckled as he turned around letting me have to the displeasure of seeing his back,whom of which despite who it belonged to I would gladly look at any day instead of that grotesque face.

When he turned around my pupils dialted and my heart rate sped up even faster. In his right hand he held a syringe. Not just any syringe though, this one, instead of containing the usual unidentifiable clear liquid, had a vibrant green almost glowing substance. He smirked as he saw my expression. He seemed way to happy and eager to use that syringe on me.

He slowly walked back over to me, seemingly absorbing my fear and terror like some sort of terroristic sponge. He held up the syringe close to face, near inches away from my muzzle and laughed maniacally as my breath hitched.

"You see this blue? This here is a little something special that we have been working long and hard on just for you. You see we never did those experiments just for the hell of it like I know you were always thinking. No my little blue fiend, they all actually had a purpose be it testing your strength, your speed, your endurance, your physical capabilities, your mental capabilities all of led down to this very moment..." He chuckled as he looked down at my abdomen and traced the scar they had previously made all that long time ago and chuckled again. I growled at feeling his gloved finger and he smirked as he looked back up at me.

"Lets see you remember the day when I gave you this scar? The procedure that kept you up through the night screaming and crying in pain and agony. Well that surgery had a purpose. After much research we had concluded that your body lacked a few of the proper... shall we say 'vital organs' for what we needed to do so we had to create our own and so we did. So therefore giving you a very painful night while your body adjusted to the few 'advancements' we made. The day you were taken from us was the day we were supposed to introduce this new creation of ours to you but I guess now is also ok don't you agree?" He asked with a toothy grin.

I flinched and tried to retract my stomach as far as it would go as he began to lower to the syringe to the previously mentioned scar on my stomach." Oh don't be so tense blue you'll feel like a new you when this stuff takes effect and enhances your normal capabilities. But I do warn you there might be some small side effects such as hunger, dizziness, vomiting, headache, memory loss and possible death." He chuckled.

My eyes widened as I opened my mouth but my 'What?!' was replaced with a loud high pitched scream as the syringe was buried into my sensitive stomach.

Narrator's POV:
He laughed as he pulled the syringe back out and quickly began ordering the other scientists in the lab around," Quickly! remove the restraints and throw him into the cell! We don't have much time before it takes its effect and I have a feeling we are also going to have our first test dummy show up anytime now. " he chuckled as he watched Sonic's unconscious body being carried away.
