Sonic's POV
The room was black. Blacker then usual, and that made me feel even more uneasy then usual. I had just awoken from another one of the experiments and hurt all over. I noticed new stitch marks and bandages on my sides, arms and legs and winced when I tried to move them.
I then began to feel like I was floating or being transported to another section of the labs. I hate being transported, it always means new chemicals to drug me with and new ways to feel pain.
I squeezed myself in the corner of the cage like I usually do in these sorts of situations and whimpered silently.
I wondered to myself, thinking where I could possibly be now as I finally felt my cage being set on a table.
I squinted my eyes when I was blinded by a sudden light shown through my dark cage, once a blanket that covered it was removed and a bright lamp-like light shown brightly in my face from above.
I blinked a few times in confusion as I looked around to try and figure out what room I was in now.
The room itself was large and had lots of weird equipment and machines scattered all over the place with busy scientists around them writing down data on clipboards.
I saw large cabinets with orange and black labels that were to blurry for me to read due to my tired eyes. I looked down and noticed that my cage was set on some strange metal table.
My ears twitched when I heard a familiar squeak. I turned my head slightly but only to see a hand covered in a white latex glove coming for me. I gasped and tried to sink back further into my cage but they caught me by the scruff of my neck and pulled me out.
I didn't bother to fight since I no longer had the strength or determination to do so. I just let them carry me as they slowly walked across the lab and entered another room through a pair of white double doors.
My heart raced once I saw where it was they were taking me. My breath hitched and then I began to kick with whatever strength I had left.
It wasn't enough to do anything I soon noticed, as they strapped me into an operation table. A nurse with brown hair walked over to me with a needle in her hand and tried to grab my arm.
"Ok little guy this won't hurt a bit it'll be over before you know it," she tried to reassure me as she injected the chemical in my arm.
I knew exactly what it was though and so I began to kick and scream even more violently, "N-No! N-Not again! I-I don't w-wanna go to sleep! I don't wanna!"
I looked up at the blurry image that once was the nurse and let a single tear roll down my pale muzzle,"I-I j-just w-wanna g-go h-home..." I managed to say before my vision fully vanished and I dozed off into a deep dreamless sleep against my will," I'm sorry little guy." Is all I heard before the entire world went black.
Shadow's POV
I am frozen in the center of the laboratory right now lost in deep thought. Why you may ask? Well it's because it's not everyday that you think that you just heard a ghost.
"Agent Shadow are you all right?" I shook myself out of my train of thought and put my normal grimace back on my face and nodded with a grunt.
"Yes I am, now stop dawdling and show me where the place that I am needed is located so I will be able to begin my work in peace," I grumbled as I folded my arms.
The two shrugged their shoulders and turned around and continued to walk. 'That was close. I think I should go into acting once this all over, i seem to be putting on a pretty good show at hiding my true intentions from these pathetic mortals.' I smirked to myself as I walked behind them.
As we continued to walk through the room though I began to loose my smugness when the thought of what I heard when I first entered this room came to mind.
I remember hearing only a few things, but saw hundreds of unexplainable events.
I remember seeing a small crowd of scientists huddle around a small dog cage and slowly reaching in trying to grab something.
I remember hearing an almost inaudible wince of pain as the subject was picked up and carried away by the swarm of scientists.
I didn't think much of anything that was going on though. I figured it was just some poor defenseless woodland creature that they captured and were going to put it through a series of tests and other things, but that was before I heard and saw something that made my blood run cold.
The animal let out a scream. This was not just any scream that any animal makes though. No sir! This was a familiar scream, one that I had not heard in months.
I quickly swiveled around on my heels to catch a quick glimpse of a squirming blue creature being forced against its will onto an operation table screaming in objection to these events in the process.
After seeing this only one thing came to my head in a unsure manner,'Faker? But it couldn't be, he is...well I thought he was...' I couldn't finish my sentence though as my thoughts were cut off.
I pulled myself out of my self-induced trance once I made it to the position that I was suppose to be watching over.
In a quite ironic way though, it turned out that the place was a cage, located right next to the doors that the very familiar being had been forced into, so i was sure to be getting some answers now, at least I hoped I would.
