I Will Protect You

Chapter 16

Sonic's POV
"He's over here I know he is!" "Are you sure I think we already checked here why don't we check somewhere else? " No I know he is here the tracker says so and technology never lies!" "Ugh Whatever I'm gonna check somewhere else!"

I have been listening to those two argue for about fifteen minutes now and I had no idea what they wanted of what they were doing. One of the men was a broad muscular man with a dark green uniform signifying that he was of high rank in the military.

The other man was a little bit on the scrawny side and was shorter then the army man. He was dressed in a white label coat and was holding some sort of hand held computer or something.

I, on the other hand, was hiding in a hollowed out tree trunk trying to catch my breath. I had ran for quite sometime and now I was hurting all over and couldn't move anymore.

My chest was burning with every breath I took, and I was so tired but I knew I had to stay awake or something bad would happen. Something bad always happens when I fall asleep.

I pull my knees up to my chest and watch as the men separate into two different directions. The scientist still holding his computer and walking around in different directions while the soldier guy went deeper into the woods.

I was tryng to my hardest to stay quiet not wanting to attract any unwanted attention, but as usual luck wasnt on my side today. My throat began to tickle since it was so dry. All the puking I have done has left me extremely parched and very desperate for a drink.

I couldn't hold it back anymore and let out a small cough. The scientist immediately looked up in my direction and I became nervous and scooted back farther into the hallow tree.

He slowly began approaching me and the tree. I was scared and started shake. I pleaded and begged to the heavens that he would not find me or Shadow would come rescue me, but I knew the last part was just me dreaming. Shadow wouldn't rescue me I'm just extra baggage and all I do is get in the way.

I sighed as I peeped my head out of the hole in the tree and slowly looked around. I sighed in relief when i saw the scientist was gone so I slowly got out and was getting ready to start walking again when all of a sudden my legs were lifted up and my feet didn't touch the ground.

I began to flare around and kick and scream as I was turned around and my eyes widened to the size of dinner plates. Right before, me holding me by the scruff on my next, was the scientist. "Found you blue!" He smirked slyly as he pulled out his communicator and called his army buddy.

Once he showed up he took me out of his hands roughly and threw me into a small dog cage with a padlock on it. The man leaned over in front of the cage and poked a finger into it saying," This time we'll make sure your escape won't be so easy!" He then grinned evily and purposely kicked my cage over making me hit my head.

I winced as i rubbed my head and curled into a ball in the corner of a cage. The only thoughts that ran through my head was that I bet Shadow will be happy now. I then folded my ears back and cried ssilently.

_----------------------------------------------------------------Hey everybody I am soooo sorry that it has been nearly a month and a half since I uploaded this story. Things have just been so crazy between school, and stress at home. I will try to work this story into my schedule whenever I can so I can finish this for you guys. I made this chapter sort of short becasue I have big plans for it. It's gonna lead up to something that y'all definitely won't be expecting. Unless your a genius and cab read my mind so you already know what I'm going to do. But anyways yeah I'm so sorry guys and I promise I'll do better.
