Eric kept looking up and down the Institute for his parabatai.
"Where could he be?" Eric thought as he continued his search. Finally he saw Sam coming out of a room followed by Clary and Jace. He quickly ran up to Sam as he came closer. He waited for the others to leave before he said anything.
"Well I have some news," Eric said. "The warlock Magnus said he could get us back home!"
"Well bro," Sam said. "I can't go back just yet."
"What, why?" Eric asked. "Are they like your new parents or something?"
"No, but I also have some news," Sam continued. "They've told me some things about my history, and who I am. My biological parents are Jonathan Morgenstern and the Seelie Queen. I just want to stay for a little bit to get to know my other family."
"Listen Sam that's touching and all, but I wanna get back home," said Eric. "I don't know these people and for the past few weeks I've been stuck with some weird girl with a ton of problems. If you don't want to come that's fine, but I'm going back regardless."
"Then go," Sam said without emotion. Eric stared at him with disbelief before leaving to find Magnus.

Lena watched as Eric passed by her.
"What, looking for me?" Eric asked rudely.
"No," Lena answered calmly. "I'm just looking around."
"Listen, I don't care about you or any of your crazy ass problems, but I am returning to my own family." He continued on. "So if you ever thought I was interested in you, well you're wrong because I just was passing the time."
"You think I'm suppose to cry or beg you to stay?" Lena shot back coldly. "I hate to break it to you, but I'm not that type of person. It's just not an emotion I don't have." Eric looked almost as Lena stabbed him in the chest with a Seraph blade. He got away from me as quickly as he could. With a sigh, Lena went into the room to find Sam waiting alone by himself.
"I apologize about my parabatai making an ass out of himself," he said. "Unfortunately that's how he usually is."
"I'm surprised you didn't go with him." Lena said, brushing off anything Eric said to me.
"I decided to stay here for a little bit," he said. "I just want to get to know my aunt and grandmother."
"I understand that," Lena said warmly. "I'm proud you found your relatives."
"Thanks," he smiled. "You'll find yours one day Lena. How have you been doing?"
"Well the potion has taken the sickness away," she explained. "And runes help take the pain away, but I always feel weak."
"Hopefully they find the cure soon," he said.
"I do too," she said. "I need to find Matt soon."
"Yeah, I promised Josh I'd go to Pandemonium with him," he said. "Catch you later though." They went on their separate ways.
