Lena had not managed to convince Magnus to teleport her back to Idris, but instead her friend Katalina Bane had been kind enough to get her back home. She had finally set foot back in her old Institute.
"Mr. Goldthorn?" She called out. Lena continued to search all over the building. Finally she gave up and started walking toward the training room.
"Lena!" Mr. Goldthorn exclaimed and nearly scaring Lena to death.
"You scared me," she gasped. "I'm sorry I've been away for so long."
"No need to worry," he smiled. "How was New York?" Lena took a step back; Nobody at this Institute knew where she was at.
"How...did you know I was there?"
"Silly girl," he explained. "You really think all this time I've been the clueless teacher? Lena all this time I've known who your family was."
"Wait, what?" She continued to step further away from him. The man Lena came to know as a father has been deceiving her all of her life.
"I've been working with Valentine and Sebastian for a very long time," he explained. "I'm the one who told them about you and I'm also the one who injected you with demon blood. You will obey us Lena."
Us?" She asked.
"Hello Lena, or should I say Veronica Herondale." In a panic she spun around to be face to face with two men. The older one had almost snow white hair and very dark colored eyes. The younger man was almost identical to him, except he didn't look very human. In fact he almost looked demonic.
"Valentine and Jonathan Morgenstern," Lena whispered. She so desperately wanted to get away from here and back to New York. Atleast there she had friends and not some psychopathic training instructor.
"Well well, atleast you were taught some of the Nephilim history," Valentine said amused.
"Why are you talking to me?" Lena asked him.
"Is it wrong for a grandfather and uncle to worry about their grandchild and niece?" Valentine said amused.
"Besides," Sebastian finally said. "You can't deny your bloodline. Whether you like it or not, you ARE a Morgenstern."
"The demon blood is working nicely for you, or is it?" Valentine asked. Lena looked away; she didn't want them to know a thing about her.
"Are you blind father," Sebastian snarled before jerking her up. "She has a spell put on her to make her immune to the effects."
"Well, we will have to reverse the spell won't we?" Valentine smiled and pulled out his stele. He then proceded to press the tip of it into her chest.
"I've never felt so...much...pain." Lena felt as if her soul was being ripped apart. Then she slowly felt her world fade to black.

Lena woke up panting. She knew she was in New York because of the cold January weather, yet she was sweating. All of a sudden everything left in her stomach came up and was left as a stain on the black pavement.
"Come with me and I'll help you," a man said as he walked by. Lena didn't care at this point about betrayal or anything so she followed him to his apartment. Once they arrived at his place he removed his hood to reveal snow white hair.
"Sebastian," she hissed as she held her sword towards his back. "I should've known."
"I was Sebastian at one point, but I am not anymore." The man spun around to reveal. His facial features were alot safer; he looked more human than Sebastian.
"Then who are you?" She asked as he continued to stare directly into her gold eyes.
"I am Jonathan Morgenstern."
