"Butter, cheese or both?" The elderly voice asked. I looked away from my textbooks finding a woman around the age of eighty, her brown eyes glimmering, while her hair was neatly pulled into a ponytail.

"Cheese, please." I answered smiling. She nodded her head, pulling out a small notebook for her apron before scribbling down my order.

I sigh, staring out the window. It was another Tuesday morning, the sun had just been up; while pack members were preparing for the annual feast. A feast that was held every every year; as a gift of appreciation to the moon goddess.

It had been a week since i left the castle. And truthfully, i was devastated. Trust me, it wasn't something that I wanted to feel. When he  marked me, it had left a growing bond in me to well, him.

Sometimes i just hate my life. You know that?

But i guess, we just have to learn to live with it. And besides, maybe everything did happen for a reason after all. Maybe the moon goddess took pity on me; and since she obviously can't reverse her doing shes brought it upon me to leave.

Hah, no.

The elderly woman came back once again, holding a tray of hot chocolate and the cheese sandwich i had ordered. I thanked her, as she placed them onto my table, before she quietly stood next to me with a nod.

"It's a pleasure serving the queen." She smiled with excitement. I shuffled an awkward laugh, before slowly retracting back to my textbook. I could feel her eyes practically burning through my skull, which was odd enough from her close proximity.

"Er-" I blushed. She slightly jumped from realization, before moving away quickly to sit on the other end of my chair.

I dug myself deeper and deeper into my book, until i was practically a noodle slipping down from my chair.

"Your book is upside, sweetheart." She old woman chuckled. I quickly sat up straighter, muttering an 'oh' as i switched it over to the other side. Just brilliant Madison.

"You know, my grandmother had met the king once." She said, her eyes sparkling. I slowly peeked out, interested on what she was about to say. "Oh?" I answered.

"Yes, she was about your age when she had met him. But i tell you, it wasn't just any encounter. She had caught him with a beautiful blonde, a human. It wasn't just once, but they would meet up every time the clock strikes twelve at the well near the village." Jealousy clutched onto my arm like a virus. I merely swatted it away, but it seemed to be getting stronger and stronger by every shake.

"oh..." I muttered. She looked back up at me, curiosity lighting her dull eyes. "Her name was Juliette. She was the mayor's daughter, and a good friend of my grandma's. But whatever she and the king had didn't last long. After my grandma gave birth to my pa, she and Juliette ran off. The reason i'm telling you this is because, before she left she left an oath. An oath to kill whoever held the king's heart."

"Some thought she was crazy. But between you and me, i think...she will." She said, a grim line forming on her lips.

I didn't answer her, i mean how could i? What can i say? First that my mother is apparently a witch, then now a mysterious woman that is around 200 years old is about to kill me, I just. I don't know how to deal with this.

"well, erm. Thank you. But i should really help them out." I said smiling as i gestured to the women carrying trays of food onto a long table.

I was about to leave the cafe, when she held back my forearm. "Please, be cautious child."

|Lily's POV|

"I'm really worried about her." I muttered, plopping back a chip onto my mouth. Matt lifted a brow, as he continued spreading tomato sauce over the pasta.

"You? Worried about anyone? That's the first." My head shot up to him, watching him smirk as he placed the sauce back into the refrigerator.

"Hey, i only care about people that mean something to me. In fact i'm such a care bear th-hey! That's not how you do it!" I sprinted, pushing him aside as i shaped the dough into perfect circles.

"I did that too." He muttered, as he moved over to the frosting. I watched him carefully, as he added more sugar than the intended.

"Ugh." I groaned, pushing him aside once more. "Why are you even here? You're just a nuisance in the kitchen."

He rolled his eyes, "wow, big words. Don't flatter yourself, kid. I was instructed to help up setting the banquet, and coincidently i've heard the kitchen needed more man power."

I hissed, "they why don't you help set up the tables instead?"

"Because i'm beta." He winked, dipping his finger over the frosting, before softly patting it on my nose.

I groaned once more, wiping the frosting of my face. This time it was my time to smirk. I grabbed a handful of flour, quickly splatting it on his face.

His face was as white as a ghost, with only his blue eyes staring daggers to my direction. I yelped as he picked up the ketchup, smearing it ever so lightly on my hair.

I pushed him, grabbing a both the mustard and mayonnaise, with a little squeeze, it was all over him from head to toe.

He smiled at me deviously. Grabbing the whole bowl of frosting. My eyed widened, before i took off to wherever the hell my legs could take me. I was still holding the mustard, pointing it at every direction as if it were a loaded gun.

I heard footsteps, before i could even look back i was pushed back a wall. Hands caged me, before i was face to face with a chuckling Matt.

"Got you."
