'Good afternoon everyone! Today we are having three sets of debate. Three different motions and six benches which means we will be dividing you into six three's. We will be using asian parliament so naturally it can go harsh but not harsh enough. Set your manners people. Were debating, not cat-fighting. Find your benches.' Sara started out fixing mess of papers on the desk infront. She was the chairperson or otherwise, the head of our cult. No, it wasnt a cult of course. Her auburn hair falling to the sides of her chubby face.
Everyone scrambled to get to three's and I just stood there waiting for someone to approach me because I wasnt the type of person whom everyone knows or talks to. I enjoy being alone since the breakup and my fight with Carina.
'Let's go together Lyss.' Louie approached me. I smiled and went along with him but we need one more member.
'Can I join you?' A voice came from behind us. She was timid, shy. I could feel it just by the way she asked about joining our bench.
I turned around to see brown eyes and long, straight, black hair all gathered to her right shoulder. She was about 2 inches taller than me. She was damn pretty. My jaw dropped.
I didnt understand why. But I know she's quite familiar.
'Oh heyy Juliana. Of course! Welcome to debate agaaaaaain!' Louie screeched and hugged the girl.
So she was the new member.
'Oh thanks. Come on. Its already been a week.' She said. They both laughed. And I just stood there awkwardly with eyes wide open.
'Oh where are my manners,' he laughed again. 'Juliana this is Lyss right here, my buddy here in debate. Lyss this is Juliana, our new member for about a week ago.' He motioned.
It took me forever to realize that I already saw her around before more than thrice.
She was this weird girl who looked at me like I scared her every effin' time I passed by her or I was on sight. She was a junior now and Im a senior.
I smiled and offered my hand to her and she did the same. The feel of her hands on mine felt quite bizarre as if there was something else.
I pulled my hand away awkwardly.
She smelled like strawberries.
So the debate went on and on for the whole afternoon until no one had the energy to debate anymore.
The whole time I was awkwardly glancing at Juliana who is actually doing pretty good. Better than I expected for someone new.
We didnt talk that much. Just a little when we were matterloading. Gathering facts and looking for ways to destroy the opponent's side.
Just when I was packing up my stuff and saying my goodbyes with Louie, I glanced to say goodbye to her too and tell her how glad I was to meet her I couldnt find her anymore.
I shook my head and smiled inwardly thinking about the weird feeling she gave me.

'Lyss.' My mom opened my door while I was in my headphones blasting my head off with a Madilyn Bailey cover of Use Somebody.
I hanged my headphones on my neck as she approached me, not bothering to sit up.
'Hey mom.' I smiled. She sat next to me while I was desperately sprawled out on my bed. Bacon was on my belly snoring like a pig.
'So how are you today?' She asked. 'You seem better today.'
'Oh yeah, I went to debate today. It was fun.' I said tugging at Bacon's fluffy tail.
