My Face

My face smiles

My face grins

My face laughs

My face giggles

My eyes twinkle

My eyes shine bright

Except, not really

That's just my mask

Its always been my mask

My mask smiles

My mask grins

My mask laughs and giggles

The eyes of my mask twinkle and shine

My face

My face is filled with pain

My face is broken

My face cries in the night

And anytime I'm alone

My face is hidden behind my mask  

Because my face betrays me

My face shows all the emotion I try so hard to hide

I built my mask to cover that which is ugly

My mask protects me

My mask keeps me safe
