When I sleep at night
I find myself trapped in an endless spiral
As you invade my thoughts my unconscious mind
Your face is there
I feel you ever so near
In my dreams we meet
As lovers we speak
When I sleep at night
Dreams are unrelenting like plagued insanity
A much welcomed psychosis
No longer a contrite heart I have
As your essence has set things right
The elixir inducing our love
When I sleep at night
I imagine your smell
The sweet fragrance of contentment
Motionless I lie
Eyes closed dreams in control
Welcoming surrender to memories of you
When I sleep at night
Your sound is all I crave
The sound of your heartbeat my lullaby
Then when I wake
Whisper your name
Reach across the spot where you once laid
You aren't there
Slumber welcomed once again
Until you return to the spot you claimed
Come home don't stay away
Come home soon
But for now dreams will do
When I sleep at night
All I see is you
