Compelled

If I tell you
I was compelled
Compelled to call you
As I sensed your pain from afar
Would you believe me?

When I called your name
Did you panic?
Did you think
What the hell is this?
I was compelled

Were you on the verge of death?
Knocking with your own hands
Beckoning cries of discontent
I was compelled

Your life was on the precipice of extinction
From all the wanton afflictions
But I heard your destitute cry
Through miles of painful fury
Hatred filled with obscurity
I was compelled

Did I halt your plans?

Did I stop you from making a mistake?

I simply called your name

Because I felt your unceasing pain

I was compelled
