Every human walks around with a certain kind of sadness. They may not wear it on their sleeves, but it's there if you look deep.

• • •"Nathan?" I asked with my eyes narrowed straight at him.
"Ya, its me." He smirked as he leaned against the doorway and looked down a little. "I'm so tall, you don't even have to get on your knees."
As soon as those words left his mouth, I burst out laughing; I probably looked mentally ill, but who cares? Once I had gained my mentality, I looked up at his grinning face. "What the heck are you doing here right before school?" I questioned, making him move forward and closer to me. A bit too close to be honest, not that I didn't like him being this close to me, it's just wrong. My heart beat was going crazy and I felt tingles shooting within my body, with him standing only a couple of inches away from me. I'm surprised he didn't comment on my heart which was pretty close to exploding.
I looked up at his face, it was even more perfect up close. He has hazel eyes that show different emotions all at once, the most gorgeous long eyelashes ever; creating a slight shadow under his eyes and his jaw goes from clenched tightly to relaxed in a matter of milliseconds, and his beautiful dark hair falls messily over the side of his face, I was so tempted to move the strand of hair that hit his eye away; but I stopped myself.
He's your new neighbour as well as a popular bad boy. I thought to myself but I couldn't stop but look into his eyes and feel intoxicated by his presence and strangely enough he looked back at my eyes without hesitation, he then glanced around my face as if he was examining it or searching for something, but looked straight ahead at my eyes soon after.
"I was just wondering if I could get a lift to school." He whispered in his deep husky voice, his minty breathe fanned across my face, sending chills down my spine.
"What?" I asked as I took a step back.
"My car isn't starting and my moms not at home, so I thought I should ask whether I could come with you and Lucas."
"Sure thing." Lucas said as he was stepping down from the last step.
"Thanks man." Nathan smiled at Lucas then at me.
"Lucas, breakfast." I muttered, getting slightly annoyed by the fact that I spent over twenty minutes making breakfast, instead of getting extra- much needed sleep, and it had probably gotten cold too.
"Oh yeah, Nathan would you like to join us?" Lucas raised his eyebrows at me then turned to face Nathan. "Also there's a possibility you may or may not end up with a painful stomach after eating food cooked by Nancy." He then burst out laughing and so did Nathan making me glare at the two idiots.
"I'd love to." Nathan grinned, making me feel slightly odd; his presence wasn't making me feel happy nor sad, it was just awkward but not it the bad way. How strange.
After an awkward ten minutes with Nathan and Lucas at the dining table, making small talk about random stuff, we headed out to go to school. As I approached the passengers seat a hand pulled me back by my waist, making me stumble a little and my face almost hit Nathan's chest.
"I don't think so precious, do you not know that the guest always gets to choose where they sit?" Nathan bent down a little so that we were face to face and he breathed close to my ear. And with that said Nathan passed by me and sat down in the passengers seat.
