19 - The Gig

After all those crazy dance rehearsals and studio time the day had finally arrived! Midnight Red were going to do their biggest gig yet here in L.A.. I was super nervous because it'd also be the day that Red would find out about Thomas and me. We had to be at the venue 1 hour early for sound check. Julie was coming too which made me a feel a little more confident about telling Red. Not a whole lot though. I heard a knock at my door.

"Come in."

The door opened revealing Thomas. He had a huge smile on his face, his eyes bright. Next thing I knew I was swept off my feet and being spinned.

I couldn't stop laughing. "Thomas put me down. I'm starting to get dizzy."

My feet touched the floor. "Hey love." He said as we parted from each other. "You look great!"

I balanced myself before replying. "Thanks and I didn't know you were coming over."

"Surprise." He kissed me.

He seemed really happy. Like way too happy. I guess he was way more excited on telling Red than I was. He broke the kiss.

"I got something for you too!" He grinned.

"Thomas no gifts."

"Please." He made a puppy dog face.

I crossed my arms.

He pulled out a blank CD from his back pocket and handed it to me. "Here you go. I know it's not much but I had to think of a quick way to say thank you for being my girlfriend."

"You could've just told me." I teased.

"Actions speak louder than words." He pecked me on the lips.

I placed the CD with my others on the shelf. "I'll listen to it later. What's exactly on it?"

"Stuff. Music that I hope you like."

"Well you have great taste so I think I'll love it."

I leaned in for a kiss but then I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in!" I yelled.

Eric opened the door. "Thomily!!! Sorry if I interrupted anything you love birds but our driver is ready to go."

We arrived at the venue and there were already tons of fans waiting to get inside. The boys wanted to greet some before entering the venue. We exited the bus and the fans didn't waste time to attack them.

"I'll meet you in there." I told Thomas.

As I was squeezing through all the fans I noticed the same waitress from the restaurant that Thomas and I ate at. She walked up to me with a smile on her face.

"Hey. Do you remember me? I was your waiter for you and Thomas."

"Of course. Thanks for your awesome service."

"No problem. Be honest." She leaned in closer to me. "Are you and Thomas a thing?"

"No I'm just the assistant producer." I'm surprised I even answered that without panicking.

"Really?"

I nodded my head.

"We'll FYI you guys would be so adorable!"

"Thanks hun. I should really be going now."

She waved goodbye as I entered the venue. That was so sweet. She definitely boosted my self esteem for when the fans find out. Ugh. I hope they like me. Julie was already in the venue waiting for me.

"I thought you got trampled in the crowd." She grinned.

"Nope. I'm here."

"Well so is my uncle. Wanna do this now?"

I thought about it. Even though Thomas wanted to be there too my anxiety was filling up.

"Sure."

"Hey Red! Welcome back." I greeted him with a hug.

"Hey Emily. So I know your little secret."

I parted from him. Wait. What?

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Yes you do."

I just stood there with a half smile. Julie looked at me and shrugged from behind him.

"So since you know that me and Julie are related I want to thank you for not blowing my cover."

Duh. "You're very welcome."

"So how have the boys been?"

"They've been great. I have some great news for you."

"What's that?"

"Well recently I've been in contact with the boyband The Wanted."

"They're not stealing you from me are they?"

"No." I laughed. "They want to take Midnight Red on their upcoming World Tour."

"That sounds amazing."

"So it's happening? Because they want me to notify them as soon as possible."

"Of course."

"That's so awesome the boys will be thrilled."

"I bet they will. So anything else I should know about?"

Just that I'm dating Thomas.

"No not at the moment."

Julie looked at me like I was crazy.

"Okay then. At least you know how to behave unlike my niece here."

"What has she done wrong?" I said pinching her cheeks.

"Cmon don't act like you don't know. She's dating Anthony." He nudged her.

Julie smiled.

"Boo!"

I jumped and turned around to see Anthony and the rest of the boys laughing.

"Your such an ass." I told him.

"Awww don't get all butthurt." he hugged me.

"Ew. Now I have Anthony cuties." I teased.

Once he parted from me Thomas was standing there. He smiled. His smile. I gave him a signal the Red didn't know yet.

"Red! We missed you buddy!" Joey yelled. Everybody gave him a huge hug.

"Okay get off of me and go do a sound check." He ordered.

They obeyed him and went onto the stage. I watched very pleased with how well the boys improved from the last week. I felt a tap on my back. I turned around to see Avery.

"Hey Emmie."

"What are you doing here?"

"Red called me in. Plus I couldn't miss this!"

"Oh awesome."

"I have a surprise for you."

"More surprises?" I moaned.

"How many have you had today?"

"One is enough."

"Well lets add on shall we? Cover your eyes and let me guide you." I felt him put his hands on my shoulders as we walked to who knows where.

"Don't peek." he warned.

"Not planning on it. You know how much I hate surprises." We stopped.

"Hey kiddo." This voice was different. No. Please don't tell me.

I uncovered my eyes.

"Taylor?"
