23 // pledge

POEM #23: PLEDGE

No pledges sworn, no promises to keep,
Just warm stares, kept ocean deep.
A hero's heart, wild and careless,
Shelters us whole, there is nothing to guess.

In friendly hums, we sing, we clap,
A fierce, bewildered look we haven't tapped,
Through every fight and tear we lend,
A piece of our soul will yield and bend.

So here's to the friends we hold dear,
No barren moments, a love so near,
Walk steady, you have your perfect guide,
A beacon of light is always on your side.
