POEM #10: SKIN

It wears the weight of the summer sun,
And shakes and shivers in the cold—
Yet it hides the stories of thunder,
Shields all the promises remain untold.

The skin may be a delicate garment,
And it will fade without a single trace,
For no lines will remain in the soul,
A steady shield and a fleeting face.

Where every touch begins to show,
A brighter heart will start to grow.
For even in the deepest crack,
It soothes dreams, both white and black.
