POEM #15: YELLOW

The yellow hue speaks solemnly,
A quiet song of a mysterious spree.
It covers stray animals on the sunlit ground,
And lights the concrete, forever bound.

A sound, a light, a pompous glow,
It turns the biggest things to gold.
The trees, they hold a parting moment—
The skies, in yellow, will now be potent.

It doesn't cry; it doesn't scream,
Yet it lives abundantly where a life is lost.
The firefly—with its rapidly releasing spark;
Guides even through the enveloping dark.
