where could she be?

was the only thing running through my mind as i raced down the stairs trying to find nina in the crowded house.

i searched through the kitchen, garage, bathrooms, living room, but it was no use. she wasn't in my presence.

finally, i gave up on circling through the house and got into my car. her home is pretty close here so she might've gone there, but my only worry is that she won't open the door and I'll just be the fool wondering if she'll ever love me again.

trees and flashing headlights passed and i arrived at the designated address, 11653 elleman street.

i parked my car on the side of the road, locking it as i made my way to their front door.

shawn, you can do it. just knock.

knock.knock.knock. i patiently waited with my head down until light reached my feet. "who are you?"

"dad who's at the door?" the sweet voice rang. her face went from curiosity to disappointment.

"you know him?" the ever so slightly intimidating man asked his, daughter.

"dad this is shawn."

"shawn. so, shawn, what do you gotta do with nina?" he raised his
right eyebrow slightly along with crossing his arms. nina looked at her father with a stern look until he sighed disappearing from my vision.

"nina can i please explain everything." i begged.

"u-uh—fine come in." she sighed opening the door wider for my icicled body to warm up.

"dad we'll be upstairs. give him five minutes." he nodded before he gave me an angry glance.

i took off my shoes and followed nina up to her room and sat on her bed. there was silence for a moment until i spoke up.

"so your dad is here, must be exciting." i awkwardly start.

"uh, yeah. so what do you need to explain about?" she cut to the chase.

"right. um okay. since i was touring a lot, we barely got to be around each other and i didn't think it was fair for you to be left alone wondering if i still cared-"

"so you cheated on me to stop my wondering, great i understand now." she chuckled sadly.

"let me finish." I looked into her eyes desperately until she gave up and agreed.

"it bothered me so much that i was barely active with my fans, i couldn't focus during performances, so andrew decided to get me a paid actress to pretend i was cheating on you, and ironically he chose vanessa, yet i didn't know. he just told me all of this when you were in the h-hospital. she told she loved me and was wrong to ever ditch me for that guy back freshman year. i know this doesn't even make up for cheating on you, but don't you get, i won't stop loving you. i wouldn't be here moping around, hardly sleeping, crying in front of you if i didn't, okay i love you." the tears dripped down like a rainstorm breaking everything in front of it.

again the sad silence returned until her hushed tone whispered, "would it be bad if i didn't stop loving you too?"
