Practice lasted for about three hours before we decided to call it a day. We had also spent some time sat down working out what pieces we were going to play, a running order and some other boring paperwork such as bookings. We let members of the pack book us out and we also played at a few human events.

I went straight to my room after practice. I got changed into yoga pants, a sports bra, tied my hair into a high pony-tail and put on my running shoes. I wanted to run off some of the stress that the event was causing. I was a perfectionist so I would always stress myself out by trying to make everything flawless. The running order needed to flow nicely and contrast in the right places, we needed to start with soft songs and move on towards more up beat songs for when the meal had finished and there was so much more I needed to get right. This meant a lot to my dad. I wasn't prepared to let him down.

I walked out of my room, locking it behind me and started walking towards the stairs where I ran into my stupid brother, Callum. I mentally prepared myself for what was about to come. I was hoping that I wasn't going to run into him that day but I guess I just had bad luck.

"Hey moron, I see my parents got you a new violin," he sneered,  emphasising the word 'my'.

Wow, how mature my wolf, Attila, snorted. I huffed in agreement.

"Yup," I shrugged, not really in the mood for his bullshit.

"You're such a spoilt brat. I can't believe my parents took your sorry ass in and spoil you to death. You deserve nothing! They should have left you to rot and die in that orphanage. When I'm alpha I will make sure you get the treatment you deserve. I will take great joy in banishing you," he smirked, seeming satisfied with himself.

"Whatever Callum. Just get out of my way," I rolled my eyes.

I instantly regretted talking to him like that as he pinned me to the wall by my throat.

"Don't you dare talk to me with such disrespect! I will be your alpha so I expect you to treat me like it!" he screamed, spit flying out of his mouth onto my face. Gross.

Lucky for him, our parents were out, so he wouldn't get caught. He was always careful to not get caught. You're probably thinking, what about other pack members? Why don't they interfere? Let's put it this way, it was a death wish to get in the way of an alpha, He wasn't the official alpha just yet, but he still had all of the gains of one. Power, strength, anger and possessiveness. He punched me in the gut and threw me down the stairs like a piece of trash, not at all worried about leaving marks and bruises.

As my body tumbled to a stop, I glanced back up the stairs to see he had left. I huffed. I was expecting more than that. Jace happened to be passing by and he saw me on the floor. He sighed, helping me to my feet.  I groaned in pain as he hurled me up. Luckily I was already healing so the pain was only temporary . Perks of being a werewolf.

"You should tell your parents about this," he sighed. "You shouldn't let him walk all over you."

"I can't tell my parents and you know that J. I'm going for a run. I'll see you later?"

"You will." He gave me a hug and went off to carry on with his duties. He was the Beta's son, so he would be Callum's beta. His dad had been prepping him for the responsibility throughout his entire life, even though Jace didn't want it. He didn't want to be that assholes beta but thanks to his genetics and bloodline, he had no choice.

I jogged through the woods and my mind wandered off, thinking about Callum. The bullying was a regular occurrence and happened every time he saw me. He would verbally and physically harm me and when he was finished we would carry on with our day like it hadn't happened. He claimed that he did it so I "knew my place". Personally, I think it was due to jealousy.
