Chapter-26

Casey's POV

"ANNABELLE!" I panicked as Jess struggled to revive her.

"Annabelle, please. You promised" Tears pricked my eyes and i pulled her hand into mine. "You promised you wouldn't leave, now come on, breathe."

A few minutes passed and nothing happened. Jess started CPR on her, desperately trying to revive her. I knew this whole thing was a bad idea but I still let her go through with it. I growled at myself but stopped when I heard coughing. I whipped my head to Annabelle to see her coughing her lungs out. I quickly passed her a glass of water and let out a sigh of relief. "I thought I lost you," I breathed in relief.

After she had stopped coughing she chuckled. "I promised,didn't I?"

I let out a breathy laugh and nodded my head. I sat in the bed next to her and pulled her into my side and hugged her like she was about to disappear . "Never do that again"

Jess left the room after checking that Annabelle was completely fine and told Annabelle to rest before our drive home the next morning. I was glad to see her comply with that request. I didn't know how she was still going after not sleeping at all last night. She was definitely exhausted and I took great pleasure in seeing her take some well needed rest. I kissed her forehead and felt myself dropping off too.

Annabelle's POV

The next morning I was awoken by the soft sunlight glowing through the curtains and I felt refreshed. I looked up to see Casey was still fast asleep and smiled. I sat up and moved closer so I could kiss all over his face and when I eventually reached his lips he kissed me back. I grinned once I pulled away.

"Good morning" I smiled.

He returned my smile and hugged me tightly. "Good morning my beautiful mate"

I giggled and nuzzled into him. Neither of us could be bothered to move out of the bed which reminded me to look at the time. I glanced at the clock on the wall and frowned when I realised it was ten o clock. We had to leave in two hours.

After laying in bed for another half an hour cuddling we eventually got up and Jess made us some pancakes. When either of us tried to help she shooed us away and told us it was the least she could do after nearly killing me. This was meant as a light hearted joke but I could see that her eyes were dulled with guilt.

After breakfast Casey left to have a shower and I helped Jess clean the kitchen, ignoring her protests telling me not to. I watched her scrubbing at the plates deep in thought and sighed. She looked at me and gave me a sheepish smile.

"Jess. You're not to blame for yesterday. My mother wouldn't have asked you to do it if she hadn't considered the risks. You did the right thing and hey. I'm not dead am I?" I added with a giggle.

She chuckled and nodded. "You're right. Why don't you go shower in my bathroom? I wouldn't want you to be late for your ceremony."

I smiled. "Thank you" I dried the plate that was in my hand and put it on the stack and left the kitchen.

I paused at the door and turned back to face her. "Why don't you join us?" I offered.

She smiled and shook her head. "Thank you for the offer dear, but I'm afraid to say I can't. My husband will be back home today from his business trip. I will be watching it though don't you worry"

I nodded. "Well thank you for everything you have done for me and Casey. We both appreciate it" I smiled and walked up stairs.

I walked into the room to grab my clothes and toiletries as Casey walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. He smiled at me and went to his duffel to grab his clothes. I let my eyes roam his body and turned around when I felt my wolf trying to push forward. I laughed at her and walked into the bathroom to get ready to leave.

"You will visit me again won't you both?" Jess asked as she hugged us goodbye.

I chuckled. "How could we stay away from those amazing pancakes?" I grinned earning a laugh from both her and Casey.

"Enjoy your night both of you. I will be watching and so will your parents. Both of your parents. Casey they would be so proud of you" Jess beamed.

Casey smiled and nodded. "Thank you Jess. For your help too. I really appreciate it"

Jess smiled ."You're more than welcome. Now go on. You have a Luna ceremony to attend"
