Dean had it all planned. Dad was gone. Things were quiet. He had a reservation at a nice restaurant and a bottle of champagne in the plastic ice bucket in his motel room. His suit had been cleaned. He was ready to pick Cassie up at her dorm. Castiel watched all this and worried.

Dinner had been perfect. Dean and Cassie had made love as they had several times before. Dean commented on how good they were together.
"We are good at this, Dean."
"Cassie, I need to talk to you."
Cassie kissed him and smiled.
"I want you to know that I have done something I've never done before."
"What is it, Dean?"
"I'm in love with you, Cassie. Because I love you, I have to tell you the truth."
Castiel, sitting at the table, winced.
"You've been lying to me?"
"I haven't told you everything."
"Tell me now."
The angel noted a tenseness in the woman's voice.
"I'm a hunter."
"Lots of people hunt, Dean."
"I hunt monsters."
"What?"
Dean explained what his family did. Cassie sat up and slipped out of bed.
"If you wanted out so bad, Dean, all you had to do was say so. Don't sit there and tell me you love me and then come up with something this crazy to get out of it!"
"I'm not lying, Cassie," Dean pleaded as he watched the woman he loved get dressed. Cassie picked up her cell phone and called a cab.
"Cassie. Please."
"I don't need this kind of insanity, Dean. It was nice while it lasted. I'll wait outside. Goodbye, Dean."
The hunter watched the door close behind her and felt the pain in his heart. It felt as bad as it did when he lost Sam. He curled into a ball and fought back the tears. He knew how to hide the pain and would not let it out again. The angel walked towards him and laid his hand on the man's shoulder, a single tear going down his cheek.
'How many times will I cry for you, Dean?" Castiel sighed.
