Dean mentioned going to coordinates their dad had left in his journal and had to listen to his brother talk about the interview and the plans for his life. The older brother had to dig deep to act cool; he would not show the pain he felt at being left again.

The Impala parked in front of Sam and Jessica's building. Dean listened to his brother suggest they all meet later, knowing it would never happen.
He put Baby into drive and pulled away. Dean had not gone far when the lights in the car started flickering, and the radio acted up. He stared at it for a moment, a distant forgotten memory flooding his thoughts. The hunter turned the car around.
Parking across the street, he jumped out of the Impala and hurried to his brother's building. The door was locked, and he could hear Sam screaming Jessica's name and 'no.' Dean kicked the door several times, breaking the wood at the last attempt. He backed up and rammed the door, landing in the living room as the framework gave way.
Screaming his brother's name, he ran into the bedroom, looking up at the flames on the ceiling in shock. Memories of his mother almost overwhelmed him, but he remembered a voice saying, "Take your brother and run, Dean." Running towards the bed, the older man grabbed Sam and forced him to come with him.

Leaving Sam at the Impala, the hunter called 911 to report a fire. He watched the nightmare unfold, not sure what he should do or say. Slowly, he turned and looked at is car and saw Sam digging in the trunk. Dean closed his eyes, heart breaking.
The only thought in his mind was "why?"+++++
Castiel had done what Father had asked but was given the promise and the right to go to his former charge if there was need. He stayed highly attuned to the hunter.
The angel was in Kenya, helping a missionary protect an orphanage. He would use his grace to work minor miracles of healing and to ease the heartache that went with the work.
Suddenly, he felt Dean Winchester's heart breaking. The hunter always seemed to hurt but this was different. The cry of "why?" reached him.
'Father, I have to go.'
'You are needed, my son, but you may not remain.'
'Thank You, Father.'
The angel disappeared.
