Dean sat in the Impala waiting for Sam to quit talking to Missouri Mosely. He was relieved it was over, but he was shaken to the core. In his mind was the presence of his mom in the house, and it broke his heart. He could not understand why she apologized to Sam. It worried him.

He wanted to ask Missouri but refused to face her again. For reasons he could not understand she seemed to take a major dislike to him, and it hurt. He didn't remember her, but she would have been in the part of his life he had trouble remembering.

He closed his eyes for a moment, and the phone call to his dad ran through his mind. He'd begged the man to come. Dean hadn't faced that kind of fear in a long time, and his father couldn't take the time. Again, he wanted to ask Missouri, but she'd already made it plain she didn't know. He wasn't sure he believed her.

Sam climbed into the passenger seat, and Dean looked at him.

"You ready," Dean asked.

"Yeah. Let's get out of here," his brother responded.
