Dean left the city limits sign for Richardson, Texas behind them. He glanced over at Sam, thinking that it had been a good hunt and the pranks had been fun. It had been a while since they had done anything as stupid as a prank war. The fact that his little brother could still do so after all that had happened was encouraging.

They received a text from John giving coordinates for a town in Wisconsin. They pulled into the town Fitchburg, and Dean found a motel. Their investigation lead them to a shtriga.

The older brother remembered the past and John's anger and how he never looked the same at him. His heart ached for what had happened.

Across the world, Cas felt the pain coming from the one under his protection. He had felt it before, but Father would not let him go. He cried out pleading to be allowed to go this time.

'This pain is familiar, Father.'

'You may go but you cannot interfere, Son.'

Cas was immediately in Fitchburg. He watched the brothers hunt the creature and winced when Dean used the boy as bait.

When it was over, green eyed male tried to pretend nothing was different but the angel and his brother knew better. Castiel reached out and touched the man, whispering, 'It's over, Dean. You can let go.'

Father called to him and told him to go back to his other charge. Both the angel and God knew that the hunter would still carry the heartache.
