Chapter 4

After we ate lunch we packed up and walked to the Curtis'.

"Y/n? Did you realllyyyy mean it when you said I was beautiful?" He questioned in his cute little voice.

"Of course PonyBoy. You're the most handsome boy I know." I smiled at him.

"After we get dressed, wanna go play football with us?"

"Oh, I could never play. But, I'd love to watch." I punched him playfully "Beat you to the house!" I said and took off running. Even though I got a head start, Pony was a track star and easily beat me.

"Beat ya!" He laughed.

"No fair! You run track!" I pouted playfully.

"What's my prize?"

"This." I kissed him on the cheek and walked in the house.

"That was a big reward." He followed in after me. "Especially from a girl like you. " I blushed. I started doing the dishes when the rest of the gang walked in.

"Its okay, y/n. I'll have Soda do 'em" Darry smiled, placing a hand on my shoulder.

"Please just let me do them. Its the least I could do." I smiled. I finished the dishes when someone tapped on my shoulder.

"Hey JohnnyCake. Everything alright?" I said placing my hands in my pockets.

"Everything is fine. I just wanna talk." He grabbed my arm and pulled me away from everyone. "Pony really likes you. He told me. He was too scared to ask himself so I volunteered to do it for him. Pony wants to take you to the drive in tonight with Dally so you're protected from the socs. I'll be there too. It would be like old times. Wanna come?" He smiled

"I would love to. Tell Pony I'll be heading home." I hugged him and began walking home with butterflies fluttering in my stomach. Ponyboy Curtis, asking me to the movies? Yes please! I took a shower and got changed into jeans with a white shirt. Nothing special. I straightened my hair and applied my red lipstick with eyeliner and mascara. I heard a knock on my door to reveal Pony, Johnny and Dally. I slipped on my black and white converse when Dally leaned against the door frame.

"Glory, what a doll. What you doin' with Pony when you could be shootin' higher with me?" He lifted up my chin with his hand.

"Awh Dally! Leave her alone. Let's just go." Johnny whined. I winked at Dally, then intertwined my fingers with Pony's. He was shocked at first, but then smiled. Dally instantly got jealous, but laughed it off. We were off to the movies.
