Chapter 7

I just invited myself in. Darry was on the couch reading the paper and Pony was in the kitchen making breakfast. I sat next to Darry.

"Hey, I just wanted to tell you thank you for gettin' Dally off me." I said and he looked at me from his newspaper and chuckled.

"No need to thank me. He shouldn't be hittin' ya. I should be thankin' you for saving Pony several times." He went back to the paper. I got up and went to the kitchen. I grabbed a plate and twirled then kissed Pony on the cheek. I set up the table as he put the food on plates.

"You're in a good mood." Ponyboy said smiling.

"Not really. Just happy to see you, that's all." I turned and he wrapped his arms around my waist. I put my hands on his biceps.

"What you think of me?" He said softly.

"My boyfriend." I chuckled kissing him quickly and went to the sink. I started cleaning the pan that pony had used.

"Really?" He said stunned.

"Yes Ponyboy." I laughed again, scrubbing the egg stuck to the pan with a sponge. "Darry! Soda! Breakfast is ready!" I yelled, putting away the pan. I opened the fridge, grabbing the chocolate cake and set in right in the middle of the table

"Well, what do you think of me Pony?" I said wiping down the counter tops.

"My girlfriend." He said quietly.

"Good." I turned to face him. "That would have been really awkward if you didn't" I stepped towards Pony and gently kissed him. He snaked his arms around my waist as I put my hands on his neck.

"WOoOOOOoooOOOOoOoO" we pulled apart and saw Steve, Two-Bit, Darry, Soda, Johnny, and Dally all in the living room. Everyone was howling and smiling except Dally. He gave us a cold hard stare.

"Alright. Shut up little shits" I laughed. Steve came running to the chocolate cake but I stopped him "one slice" he groaned but I slapped him playfully. I walked up to Johnny who was next to Dally and Darry.

"Hey Johnnycake. Wanna go to the park with Pony and I?" I said

"Only if you bring Dally. Can't have you get hurt." Darry interrupted. I narrowed my eyes and groaned. He mocked me playfully.

"Fine. Let's go." I mumbled as we all walked out. Dally was walking behind us.

"I knew y'all would be together." Johnny smiled. Pony and I just smiled. Pony held my hand as we walked to the park. A blue mustang slowly drove next to us. Dally ran up next to us as they quickly drove off.

"Thanks Dal." I looked over at him and smiled.

"Yeah yeah." He sighed.

"Can we just quit not talkin' to each other? I know you're not gonna apologize so might as well just go back to normal." I stopped in my tracks accidently pulling Pony back.

"If you weren't hot then I wouldn't talk to you, but you are. You got off lucky." He scoffed. Pony glared at Dallas as he chuckled. "I know I know man. She's yours. Take it easy man." I shook my head and laughed. When It started getting dark we headed home. We had dinner and Dally, Two-bit, and Steve all went home. Johnny and I stayed. Pony gave me a big shirt that went down to mid thigh. Johnny and Soda got the bed and Pony and I got the couch. We were cuddling watching Mickey Mouse.

"Pony?" I whispered, unsure if he was asleep.

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

Silence

"I love you too"
I smiled and snuggled against his bare chest. Even though we had blankets, I was still cold and Pony was warm. I fell asleep to his breathing.
