Chapter 10

"Hey girl, you heading home"

"Yeah I have a lot to do tonight"

"I hear that, me I'm heading to the night bar down the road for a small glass of wine since I'm off tomorrow. You want to join me" sounded sincere.

"Naw I better get home, I need to let my dogs out before they get into everything"

She laughed and nodded her head and told me that she would see me later. Driving off I started my own car and headed out before someone else stopped me for something. When I arrived in front of my apartment I checked to see if Max's car was parked. Hurrying up to get to my door when I heard a deep voice coming behind me I knew that the landlord was heading my way. He was a nice guy but he would be staring at my chest for the whole conversation. Opening the door waiting to see if I was going to have company but all I could hear was silence. Grinning I headed to the Livingroom to find Lili and Lola staring at me.

"Alright girls we are going to have company and so I need you both to be on your best behaviors" With that they both jumped down and ran towards the room to lie on their bed. Going to the kitchen to pull out something to make for tonight; I didn't know what they liked so I just chose the first thing that came to mind. Pulling out chicken breast with broccoli with cheese and steamed buns. As I was making the dinner there was a knock on the door that caught my attention. Noticing that it was Max with Tyler and Gregory; quickly opening the door to let them in.

"You know you could have told me that you were going to take them. I was worried that something happened." looking directly at Max.

"I'm sorry, I informed Darla that I was taking them." holding back of his hands in surrender, Grinning I let them in. Walking back into the kitchen to finish cooking when Max came into the room,

"I'm really sorry Elle" Kissing my neck;

"It's okay Max" turning around to grin at him "if you do something like this in the future please tell me okay"

Nodding my head; turning back to finish cooking the broccoli, as Max left Tyler came in with a bag.

"Elle," was all he said. Putting the bag on the counter "this is for you; I know that I haven't been there for you but I would like to start fresh with you pulling out a wrapped box. Handing me the box; grinning dropping the spoon to grab the box. When I opened it held a necklace that had a locket; opening the locket it had both Gloria's and Tyler's pictures when they were younger.

"Oh it is beautiful, thank you" with that I tried to put the necklace on but I was having trouble with the hook. Tyler grabbed it from me and helped me put it on.

"I'm glad that you like it," he continued "Max helped me pick it out for you"

"Really" happy that I finally have a father and that spoils me. Grinning when I walked out of the kitchen to see Gregory and Max trying to set the table for dinner,

"I thought you already ate" confused,

"We did but I rather try my nieces cooking" Gregory said while putting plates down

"It's nothing special but okay" with that I started to put food on the table so that we could relax and eat. That night I was the happiest that I have ever been. We talked about how our lives were and what was going to happen later in the future. It was really late so I had everybody find a spot to sleep so that I could get everything ready so they could sleep. Max stayed another night and we laid there just talking holding eachothers hands. Then the next thing I know is Max kissing me then everything was just perfect.
