A Throne and a Baby

Chapter 20

"Here we go" as the car parked I jumped out and waited for Emily and Chloe to stand next to me.

"Let's make up a conversation" Emily said.

"How about work" Chloe said,

"That will have to do" walking to the door taking a deep breath before the storm. Opening the door I just grinned and started to talk to Chloe about working at the hospital and about the old days. Emily nodded in agreement, it was quiet in the main room so I would have to guess that they didn't know that we were here so I decided to hurry up and make it too my room before they came out to look. Taking each step not to fall I headed to the room Emily and Chloe were close making sure that nobody was behind me. As we walked down the hallway something caught my attention, my door was opened and I could hear talking inside. Nearing the room I peeked through the slit in the door Emily and Chloe also coming closer.

"Mom what am I going to do, you see it with your own eyes" pointing out all the baby things in the corner.

"I see that Max but what do you want me to do. This could be a present for someone else." Cecila sitting on the corner of my bed,

"I thought about that as well but something doesn't sit right. I'm going to ask her myself; I know when she is lying about something so I will know."

"Fine, so what if she is then what is you going to do. She has kept it from you this whole time and I know that you have had plenty of times to talk to her and she still hasn't told you."

"I will figure that out once I talk to her"

"Alright I will wait for you too as well" She stood up "we better get out of her room, who knows when she will get back and I don't think she will like the fact that we are here"

"Okay" with that they started to head to the door I pushed away from the door and made sure that both Emily and Chloe blocked me when they came out.

Both of them seemed shocked that Emily and Chloe were there "your finally back, have you seen Elle."

"Yes I think she headed to see Tyler about something." Chloe jumped in. I was bent over so they couldn't see me.

"Are you sure" Max said

"Yeah, I was just headed here so that I could wait for her here when she came back."

"Oh alright, well if that is it I will head on down then." ushering his mother down the hallway, I waited a little longer to make sure that the coast was clear. Walking into my room, I waited for Chloe and Emily to come in and lock the door so that nobody could barge in. "text Tyler and tell him that Max and his mother are on their way and that I headed to bed."

Sitting on the bed, "what am I going to do, should I just tell him and go from there or just stay here and be kept like a caged animal." speaking to nobody

"Honey doesn't think so much, the baby knows what is going on and you don't want to harm the baby."

"True" glancing up to see Emily coming over with a glass of water, "here you go just relax; everything will work out well for you later."

"I will have to believe that won't I'' taking a sip of the water. Feeling tired I lay down and headed to sleep. Chloe locked the door after Emily left and came to lie next to me.

"It will be okay," was all she said and then she went to sleep. Later on that night there was a knock on the door and it woke up both me and Chloe. She got out of the bed and headed to the door. Making sure that she was dressed okay, she slowly opened the door. Her expression changed as soon as she saw Max on the other side of the door.

"What do you want so late in the night" making sure that she put herself in front of him to block him from entering the room.

"I need to talk to Elle, just for a little bit"

"I'm sorry Max, she is asleep right now and I don't feel like hearing your bull crap." she tried to close the door but he was faster than she was. He pushed himself in the room and I quickly closed my eyes and acted like I was asleep. I didn't know what he was doing but I could hear steps coming closer. Chloe rushed over and pushed him away.

"See I told you that she was asleep and I don't tend to wake her up"

"Please just leave for a minute."

"Not on your life. When I did leave you broke her heart." I could hear the tears in her voice. "She couldn't move or even eat when you left." she pushed him again to have him get out.

"But...." was all he said.

"If you don't leave I will make you regret coming here" with that he just walked out. Before he closed the doors he turned back around. "Don't worry I will talk to her before I leave even if that means extending my stay here" with that he was gone. I waited for a minute and opened my eyes.

"Thank you Chloe"

"no problem honey, know let's get some sleep." jumping back in bed I dozed off again with no problems but something in the back of my mind kept screaming at me and I didn't know what it was.
