We talked for a while and the sky lost its colour. The moon and stars came out looking as beautiful as ever. It felt like I was looking at infinity. The universe always amazed me, that's why I kept asking myself if kissing her lips would feel like the galaxy's edge.
She said she needs to go home, but I didn't want her to leave alone. I asked her if I may walk her home and she was up to it. I didn't mind walking for half an hour on a cold night. I hoped for her saying that she's cold so I could make that smooth move and give her my jacket. I wanted my jacket to smell like her amazing perfume.
She started shaking and I looked into her deep eyes, asking if everything is alright.
She said: "I'm okay. I just need to come home as quickly as possible, I'm sorry." "Are you cold?" and without her mouth moving I put my black leather jacket over her angel white dress. It felt like my black dressing ruined her innocent look. She looked so fragile but managed a small, untrue smile. I couldn't see her sad so I hugged her tightly and her hands were clinging on my shirt. She was crying. I went through her beautiful, long hair and wanted to calm her down by saying: "You're safe now. Everything is okay." She moved away from my hands after a while, her makeup smudged by her tears. She swallowed her fear and said: "I'm sorry. I can't do this. I see you looking at me the way all of the others did and it hurts my heart. I can't do this to you. You should go. Bye."
That's when my eyes went watery. I usually never cry since I learned to close my pain within myself. She started to walk away from me, still not losing the jacket nor my favourite book.
I just stood there, confused but I managed my hand to reach out for hers. I pulled her close to me, looked into her eyes and said: "I'm not leaving. I will wait for you, because there is no girl as perfect as you. I want to explore your mind, even its darkest corners. And I will not get scared. My feelings for you won't change even if your mind is twisted. I will take care of you, I promise."
She looked at the ground, whispering something to herself. All I heard was something about her eyes, but I couldn't hear the whole sentence. I wanted to ask her about it, but I was interrupted by her head once again moving up, her eyes meeting mine. I was so scared of her reaction. I never quite spilled my heart in front of anyone like that yet.
I was so relieved when she lifted up her arms, reaching for my neck. She had to step on her tippy toes which made her hugs even cuter. "Thanks for walking me home. You're really sweet. I hope I get to explain this to you someday, but not right now. Good night.", she said before she started to walk toward blue house doors.
"Hey, wait! When will I get the chance to see you again?", I shouted behind her.
She came running back to me and covered up my eyes. As she put her cold hand away from my face she said: "Right now." She had the biggest grin on her face.
I found it very cute but I really wasn't looking for that answer. "As soon as I get the chance to read your favourite book. Here's your jacket back. Thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing you again.", she said and ran to her house door once again, not giving me the information I needed. But who could blame her; I certainly couldn't. Her mystery attracted me even more.
I watched the door close behind her and found the biggest smile on my face knowing I will have the chance to meet with her again, feeling the kind of infinity I do, looking at the star-filled night sky.
