"Alice?"

Serenity frowned at Alice's frozen form. What the hell was wrong with that

black rabbit? He had told her to leave, hadn't he? When he saw her double

over, euphoria started growing in him. Seriously? Alice Nightray actually

fell? However, it was wrong. Everything seemed wrong. Serenity stepped

towards the coughing Alice with a strange feeling of curiosity.

"Hey, Alice!"

Serenity's long fingers barely grazed against Alice's shoulders, and he was

immediately thrown back. Alice spun around, slightly off balance, her eyes

blazing.

"Don't touch me!"

Serenity seethed as he landed, hard, against a tree. He was never going to

be worried about that flea again. Then he saw the tears in her fearful

crimson eyes.

"Wait, Alice?" he questioned, shifting towards her uneasily.

Alice shuddered, curling up in to a shaking ball, "Leave me alone..."

Even Serenity could understand that she wasn't talking to him. Her unfocused

irises had a haunted look within them. With an almost stumbling shock,

Serenity realised that look had always been there, just that he had never

noticed it. Perhaps it was because Alice had hidden it so well... Or that he

was just that oblivious. Still, what-?

"Alice Nightray. Damn it, wake up!" Serenity firmly shook Alice.

Alice bit her lip, moving like a rag doll.

However, in the next instant, Alice had yanked herself away from Serenity.

"My, my, Serenity. Getting all sure of yourself, hm?" Alice licked her lips.

She flicked her hair past her shoulders, her dull-red eyes narrowing. If she

had been vulnerable a moment ago, it had all disappeared. Her doe-like eyes

were confident and mocking.

"What-? Okay, you are freaking screwed up," Serenity hissed, disoriented.

Alice stood up, brushing off her black, ruffled miniskirt. An easy, teasing

laugh escaped her full lips.

"That's your own thoughts, Serenity," Alice smirked, turning to walk away,

"Oh, and, Serenity? Be careful of the people near you."

Alice waved, as she skipped away, her slender hands in her coat pockets.

Serenity never had the chance to question her last line.

"Damn it."
