Shane's POV
Griffin had come to my school today and picked us all up during lunch. All of us except Rae. He said that it was an emergency and we had to get home. At first I objected to leaving Rae, but she's still mad at me and won't hear what any of us have to say.
***********
We pull into the driveway. The car ride was tense; everyone was panicking. Griffin didn't tell us what was happening or why it was such an emergency.
He puts the car in park and we rush out and into the house. All the possible, horribly bad, situations that could've happened, race through my mind. As I step into the house I see Sterling carrying Liam, who looks unconscious.
"Griffin what's going on?" He gives me a nervous look. His eyes full of worry.
"Isaac knows." That's all he says to me. I turn to face Isaac.
"What's happening?"
"I can't talk right now Shane. Spencer, Noah, come with me." The three of them walk up the stairs and out of sight.
Elliot and I are still standing in the entryway, not knowing what to do. He swivels around and scurries up the stairs. I follow him.
The two of us go into Sterling's room, where he has Liam lying on the bed, who is finally awake. He's crying really hard and I can hear Sterling choking back sobs.
I spend so much time trying to figure out how to help, but I'm not focused on Liam. I'm not focused on anything at all.
About two hours after we rushed home, I still don't know what to do. Rae should be here soon. The rest of the boys all have jobs and they know what's going on but none if them bothered to tell me.
RING! The landline goes off. We don't get calls on it normally. I go to pick it up but Spencer reaches it first.
"Hello?" He speaks into the receiver. He nods his head. His face drops. He puts the phone down after maybe a 5 minute conversation. He immediately goes to Sterling and relays the message. Then he tells Griffin, Isaac, Eli, and Noah. They all know except me. They glance in my direction with worry in their eyes. I finally snap.
"Someone needs to tell me what the hell is going on. You all know something I don't, so you better start talking." I let anger replace the rational part of my brain.
"Shane, Liam's sick again." Sterling's voice wobbles.
"Oh. And who was on the phone?"
"It was the hospital." Griffin answers.
"What did the hospital say?" Isaac steps closer to me.
"Shane." He takes a deep breathe. "Rae was in an accident on her way home. She's in the hospital now."
"What? We have to go." I scramble down the stairs. I look up. No one followed. "We have to go see Rae. Is anyone coming with?"
"Shane, you go. We have to take care if Liam." Sterling stiffens up. Of course, Liam's his first priority over anything else.
"Fine. Why don't you take him to the hospital?" I'm almost out the door.
"You know why. We'll call you if it gets any worse. Now go." Griffin nods as I close the front door.
Why does Liam have to be sick? Why did Rae get hurt? Why does everything bad always happen to me? Why can't I do anything right?
Hello darlings? So much has happened! Rae is in the hospital, Liam is sick with something. I wonder what's going to happen next. Vote and comment please! Peace out losers✌️!
