Gabriel’s POV
I literally had the worst sleep ever, Serena just wouldn’t get out of my mind, it was so frustrating! I’m currently at lunch sitting at a table with all the guys on the football team and nearly every girl I talk to. I looked up from my food to see Jordan glaring at Serena,
“Look at her, how can she even step foot in here?”
“I know right” Adam replied “Watch this”
Adam got up from the table and walked over to Serena, he was probably trying to chat her up and by the looks of it, it wasn’t working out for him, she tried to push him away but he stayed put, I saw him grip her wrists and that’s when I snapped, I jumped up from the table, walked over to Adam and punched him,
“Don’t you ever touch her again”
He nodded fantically and ran back to the table, I looked over at Serena,
“Why did you do that?”
“You were getting hurt”
“I thought you didn’t like me”
“What makes you think I like you now? I literally fucking saved you and that’s what you have to say?”
“I never asked you to save me”
I moved closer to her and she moved back until she hit the wall “You didn’t have to”
“Why do you hate me?” She said it so quietly, that I could hardly hear her myself,
I placed both of my hands next to her so that she couldn’t move “I don’t hate you, I dislike you, to put it bluntly, you annoy me”
“Why?” She was on the verge of tears but I knew I had to finish what I started,
“Your you” I smirked “You know, we could always go back to mine later, you could give me my thank you then”
She looked at me with sad eyes, she looked scared and upset “I, I don’t want to”
“Well until you say it, you won’t be getting this back” I lifted up my hand to show her that I had her phone, she tried to reach it, but I moved it up higher,
“And if you tell anybody about this little ordeal” I moved closer to her ear “You’ll regret it”
I pulled away from her and turned around to see everyone staring at us, I actually forgot that we were still in the cafeteria,
“Get back to your fucking lunch and mind your own business!”
As soon as I said that, everyone turned back to what they were doing before, I walked back to my table and sat down,
“So Gabriel, what was that about?”
“Nothing, we were just talking”
I took her phone out of my pocket and examined it, it’s a pretty cute phone but unfortunatley for her, she won’t be getting it back anytime soon,
“That wasn’t nothing Gabe, you punched Adam and you were practically all over her just now, it almost seemed like you liked her”
I jumped up and grabbed Jordan by his neck, I’m pretty strong for my age so it wasn’t that hard “You wanna say that again?” He shook his head “Then shut your fucking mouth”
I let go of him and he dropped to the ground, his hands automatically went to rubbing his neck and when I turned around the whole table was once again looking at me,
“Does anyone else have an opinion?!”
They all shook their head simultaneously and went back to talking amongst themselves, I walked out of the cafeteria, I was so angry that I didn’t notice someone walking towards me until I walked into them, I looked up to see it was Serena,
“What do you want now?”
“I uh, can I have my phone back?”
“I never heard a thank you, so no, you can not have your phone back”
She sighed “Thank you”
“Your welcome but you still can’t have your phone back”
She looked at me shocked “Why not? You told me to say thank you and I did!”
“Doesn’t matter love, your not getting it back, deal with it”
I walked past her but I felt her hand go around my wrist, I pulled my wrist away and glared at her,
“Don’t fucking touch me, I don’t like you so just leave me alone!”
I could tell that hurt her, I could see the tears in her eyes, I nearly went to comfort her but I knew I was doing this for a reason and I had to go through with it, I looked at her one more time before walking away from her, and luckily for me the bell rang just as I was going to my form room, and thank heavens she wasn’t in it.
I’ll admit that I felt bad about talking to her like that but I just want to forget about her, it is really too much to ask?
After 20 minutes of form, I went off to my final lesson which was, maths, I’m just praying Serena isn’t in it because of what I done and my prayers were not answered because there she was, sitting in her seat next to mine, looking down at her workbook, not once looking up, I walked over to my seat and waited for Mrs Travesky to come into class, she is taking forever though, I don’t think I could bere sitting next to Serena any longer. After a while she finally walked into class and I immediatley put my hand up,
“Yes Gabriel”
“Can I move seats?”
She looked at me confused “Why would you want to do that?”
“Because I would prefer to be closer to the front so I can hear you better”
“Ummm, okay, you can move”
I picked up my books and bag and moved to the second row near the front, I looked back at Serena to see she was still looking down at her book, I turned back to the front and listened to what we were about to do for the last hour of school.
*At home*
I walked through the door and went into the living room, I sat on the sofa and groaned into my hands, my mum walked in and looked at me worried,
“What’s wrong Gabe?”
“Nothing”
“I know it’s something”
“Mum! it’s nothing alright?” I didn’t mean to snap at her, it just came out “I’m sorry mum, I just don’t want to talk about it right now, or ever for that matter”
“Okay, just remember, when you feel that you want to talk about it, I’ll be here and so will your dad”
“I know”
She smiled at me and walked out, I leaned back on the chair and took out Serena’s phone, I played around with it for a while and then it started to ring, the caller ID said Reese, hmmm, I wonder if that’s her boyfriend… Surprisingly, I felt a pang of jealousy, I shouldn’t be jealous though, I don’t even like the girl! I put the phone on silent and put it back in my pocket, I switched on the TV and just watched films for the rest of the night, I still kept thinking about Serena but it wasn’t as bad as last night, thankfully… I still have a feeling that I won’t be getting rid of her anytime soon though and it didn’t feel good.
