Serena's POV
Me and Gabriel are currently in the car on our way back to my house so that I can face my dad. My dad has a lot of opinions so knowing him, he'll jump to the first conclusion that comes into his head without even letting me finish what I have to say and I don't want that to happen.
We pulled up in front of my house and we both got out of the car before joining hands and walking up to my front door. I hesitantly took out my keys, unlocked the door and walked into to my house and into the living room to find my dad watching TV, oblivious to me and Gabriel walking in,
"Daddy?"
He turned to face me and looked at us confused, really confused,
"What are you doing back? I thought the holiday was for a week?"
"It was"
"Is there a reason you came back?"
I nodded, "Yes there is and that's what I came here to tell you" I felt Gabriel reassuringly tighten his grip on my hand and I sighed, "I came back because I-"
I cut myself off. I couldn't bring the words to come out of my mouth,
"Because?"
"Because... I ummm..."
Gabriel leaned down and whispered in my ear, "What's wrong? Why won't you tell him?"
I turned to face him properly and mouthed, "I can't"
"Serena" I turned back to face my dad and he was looking at me worriedly, "Why did you come back?"
"I can't tell you" I looked down, "I'm sorry"
"What are you hiding from me?"
"Daddy please, if you knew, you wouldn't make me tell you"
"Are you pregnant? Is that what you're not telling me?"
Why is it that everyone thinks I'm pregnant? They just automatically assume I'm pregnant. Like come on!
"I'm not pregnant, why do you assume that I'm pregnant? I though you knew me better than that, you of all people"
He sighed, "I'm sorry, can you tell me why you came back then?"
It's now or never I guess. I looked down to the floor, "I came back because I nearly got raped"
I mumbled the last bit so I don't think he heard me, "What?"
I looked up, "I nearly got raped"
He looked at me shocked, "How?"
"I got pinned down by 3 guys; do I need to go on?"
He looked at Gabriel, "As much as I like you as a person Gabriel, where were you when it came to protecting my daughter?"
I looked at my dad shocked and Gabriel just looked at him with a blank expression,
"I wasn't where I was supposed to be"
"Exactly, I put my trust in you to protect her and this is what you let happen?!"
You see what I mean when I said he blows things way out of proportion?
