Gabriel’s POV

I can’t believe this, she actually said no,

“Why not?”

“Because I don’t want to get hurt”

“Why do you think you would get hurt?”

“Are you kidding me? So basically, your telling me that you were horrible to me just because you like me? What guy does that? You hurt me Gabriel and I’ll admit it, I like you too but I was willing to talk to you and get to know you, that’s what anyone else would’ve done, but no, you decided to be rude to me instead, why would you do that?”

Why did I do it? I mean I felt drawn to her at first yeah but I don’t actually know why I done it, probably because I was scared but for what reason?

“I don’t know”

“You don’t know? And you want me to go out with you?”

I nodded “Just give me a chance”

She shook her head “It’s not going to happen Gabriel, I’m sorry”

She got up from the table and started to walk out but I called out to her,

“Serena!”

She turned around “What?”

I took her phone out of my pocket “Take your phone then, don’t call me, don’t text me, don’t even look at me, I’m done”

I threw her the phone and she caught it, sadness came across her face but it was only for a split second, she walked out of the restaurant and I put my head on the table.

I can’t believe she said no to me, not because I’m vain or anything, just because I thought she liked me enough to say yes but I guess not. I got up from the table and walked outside to my car, it’s a good thing I didn’t order anything because that would’ve gone to waste.

I started the engine and drove back home, I drove for about 5 minutes until I saw Serena again on the pavement walking home I assume, I didn’t want to be too bad so I pulled over and opened the passenger door,

“Get in”

She hesistated but got in anyway, and then there was silence, again. She turned to face me but I kept my eye on the road,

“Gabriel?”

“What? Haven’t you said enough today?”

She sighed “Doesn’t mean we still can’t be friends”

I laughed humourlessly “And know that it could’ve been more? not happening, just think, I was a player and I’ve never said those words to anybody in my entire life and you come along and I’m pouring my heart out to you and you turn me down, after I drop you home tonight, we’re done”

She looked shocked but she never said anything else, she turned her head back to the road and we continued the drive in silence.

10 minutes later and I finally pulled up at her house, I unlocked the doors and she started to get out but she turned back to face me,

“I’m sorry Gabriel”

“Whatever”

She sighed and got out the car, I didn’t waste anymore time before I drove off and started the journey back to my own house.
