Gabriel’s POV
I was sleeping perfectly fine, Serena was in my arms sleeping peacefully and I was happy, that was until my phone started to ring, bringing me out of my sleep. I quickly but carefully turned around and answered my phone before it woke up Serena,
“Hello?”
“Yeah, sorry I didn’t answer before but did I just wake you?”
“Yes dad, remember the fact that we’re in 2 different time zones”
“Oh yeah, I forgot but anyway let’s make this quick because calling abroad is not cheap”
“Okay, can you tell the pilot to pick us up from the airport as soon as possible please?”
“Why? I thought you were staying for a week?”
“Serena’s getting homesick”
“Oh I see, well I’ll call him and I’ll get back to you”
“Okay thank you dad”
“No problem”
I hung up the phone and put it back on the bedside table. I doubt that I would be able to get back to sleep now so I quietly got out of the bed, slipped on my shorts and walked out onto the balcony. The sun was just coming up over the horizon and it did look really beautiful the way the sun slowly lights up everything one by one, making it look even more beautiful then it was before. I felt a hand intertwine with mine and I looked to the side to see Serena also looking out onto the horizon and it may be early morning but I have to say… She looks so sexy in my shirt, just my shirt by the way,
“Are you okay?”
She nodded, “I’m fine but I’m the one that should be asking you that”
She looked at me with her gorgeous blue eyes that now showed curiosity,
“I’m okay”
“You’re not though are you?”
I sighed, “Everything is different now”
She looked at me confused, “What do you mean?”
“The day you nearly got raped” I just had to close my eyes when I said that, “Everything changed, you wouldn’t even let me touch you and I knew that it was my fault, I should’ve been protecting you better”
“Gabriel, it’s over now, don’t blame yourself for that, if anything it was my fault for not telling you where I was going”
“It most definitely was not your fault, do not even say that”
“Then don’t say it was your fault either because it wasn’t. Why is it that every time we’re happy, you have to bring up something from the past? Why can’t you just leave everything as it is?”
She let go of my hand and walked back into the room and I ran my hands through my hair. She does have a point though, I do have a tendency to bring up the past and it ruins everything. I turned around and walked back into the room but she wasn’t in there. I walked downstairs into the kitchen but she wasn’t there either and that was when I started to panic, oh my gosh, what if she wandered off again? Who knows what could happen!
I ran out onto the beach and there she was… Panic over! I walked over to her and sat down behind her. I pulled her closer to me and she leant her head on my chest,
