Marinette wasn't sure how she felt about Adrien staring at her while she was asleep. On one hand she was over the moon and on the other, she was mortified. Marinette had seen photos of her sleeping and the thought of Adrien not only seeing her sleep but carrying her was absolutely embarrassing. Her and Alya were sitting on the floor of her room giggling wildly about the other day. Today was Saturday so they had the day off and were able to hang out.
"So Marinette, you gonna confess anytime soon?" Asked Alya.
"Only if you admit your undying love for Nino!" Retorted Marinette.
"I don't love him! Sure I think he's cute and all but it's definitely not love."
Marinette grinned and Alya crossed her arms and stuck her tongue out at her friend. Alya was always on Marinette about her crush on Adrien so it was nice to finally be able to return the favour. Marinette and Alya talked until it was time for Alya to leave. They said their goodbyes and Marinette went back to her room.
Marinette flipped open her sketchbook and found her newest design plan. She had plans to make a short red dress with long black lace sleeves. She didn't usually make stuff so extravagant but she was feeling inspired the other night and decided to mix it up a little. Marinette got out her needles, thread, and red fabric and decided to start. She cut out the pieces of fabric she need and was able to stitch the sleeveless sweet heart neckline for the potion of the dress which was red. She then got out her lace and got ready to plan out the sleeves.
Adrien sighed as he once again stalked Alyas Ladyblog. She had already posted her daily update but Adrien just simply couldn't get enough of his lady. He closed his eyes and thought of her beautiful midnight hair and her eyes which were the colour ice and seemed to radiate like the heavens. His thoughts shifted from her heavenly eyes to the eyes of another. Adrien got up and went to the window. His thoughts had been confusing him lately and he felt a sudden urge to go visit someone whom he only wanted to get closer to.
Marinette had everything cut and ready for sewing. She grinned as she finished getting out the underwire which she would use to make the skirt of the dress poof out. As she leaned back she heard a thump come from the terrace. She slowly got up and creeped up the stairs towards the trap door. She opened it a little and peaked outside. She was relieved to see it was just Chat Noir.
"What do you want?" She said whilst going on the deck of the terrace.
"Is it so wrong for me to wish to see my princess?" He asked.
He grinned at her as she stood across from him. She crossed her arms and frowned slightly.
"You shouldn't be here." She stated.
"I only want to talk." He said.
She studied him and sighed.
"Fine. But let's talk in my room, it's cold out here." She said.
He hesitated slightly before following. Adrien had been to her house before but that was different. He climbed down into her room and followed her into the central part of her area. He sat on the floor and she sat across from him.
"Ah yes, a fair room for my fair princess!" He said with a wink.
She rolled her eyes and he grinned at her.
"So, is my princess feeling better than she was when we met last?" He asked.
"Yeah. I finally am."
He smiled and put a hand on her shoulder. She tended under his touch and he wondered if he shouldn't have done this action. But then she relaxed and smiled at him softly.
"And what about you? We didn't talk about you so let's do that now." She said.
He was taken aback by this. No one had ever asked how Adrien or Chat Noir was doing. Not even his closest friends, but then again he was good at faking a smile.
"Oh, well I guess some things kind of suck, but whenever I see you princess, I feel complete again!"
Marinette sighed. She wanted him to open up to her, she wasn't looking for him to flirt with her.
"But all of my smooth moves aside, I have been pretty lonely these days. I have tons of friends and Ladybug is amazing, but my friends don't understand and I want to see Ladybug more than just on the battlefield." He said.
He dropped her gaze and put his hands on his lap.
"Chat, I'll be your friend. I don't want you to feel alone. If you ever need anyone, you can come here." She said.
He looked at her. He could see the sincerity in her luminescent eyes and he felt alive when she grabbed his hand. He smiled a genuine smile at her. And he almost died when her face lit up like the night sky.
"Thank you princess, you are truly a star amongst darkness."
She giggled and turned away. He grabbed her other hand and squeezed them both and she squeezed back. Adrien reminded himself that this was Marinette though, he knew that he could hurt her and no matter how he felt in this moment, there couldn't be anything else like this. He leaned forward and came inches away from her lips. He could feel her hot breaths on his skin. He looked into her eyes with longing. He wanted to hold her and kiss her and tell her she was his. But it simply wouldn't happen. He pulled away and left through the window leaving her dazed and he was horribly confused.
He almost kissed Marinette that night. He didn't love her though. He thought that she was amazing and beautiful and that her eyes were similar to that of his lady's. He didn't love her though. And after tonight he felt as if he were leading her own and he was disappointed with himself. Anyone who grew close to him would eventually get hurt. He knew this with Nino after he was akumatized because of Adriens father. He didn't love Marinette, but he did feel drawn to her.
Marinette didn't love Chat Noir. She was completely devoted to Adrien. But the thought of their almost kiss made her heart flutter and her cheeks turn a wild shade of pink. He was handsome and flirty, and his eyes were similar to that of Adriens, but she didn't love him. It would be wrong to. It was wrong but she almost liked it.
Sunday night was patrol night. She waited on the rooftops of Paris. She waited for Chat Noir and was absolutely happy when he came. He kissed her hand and she didn't pull alway.
"Hello my lady." He said.
She blushed and turned away.
"Have you finally fallen for me?" He asked.
"In your dreams kitty!" She said.
She turned around and faced him. Her blush was gone and he laughed. He was happy to see his lady again and even happier to see that he might have had an effect on her. As they patrolled that night he couldn't help but admire her beauty. Something about how she looked tonight really struck him and he was grinning the whole time.
Ladybug couldn't look at him. He looked really cute tonight with his adorable grin and all. She knew that this was bad. If he hadn't visited her while she was Marinette then she wouldn't be feeling this high around him.
"My lady, I must say you look lovely tonight." He said.
"Chat, I look the exact same as I always do."
"Well you always look lovely."
She turned and looked at him. They faced each other on the roof of an apartment complex. She gazed at his eyes. They were so gorgeous and new that this was bad. He opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by the beep of her miraculous . She said goodbye and left and he was left wondering about who shared those same heavenly blue eyes as hers.
