Under Heaven (Miraculous Ladybug)

Chapter 25: Troublesome

     Marinette took a sip of her coffee and tried not to wince as it burnt her tongue. She set it back down on the table and rubbed her hands on her lap.

"I can't believe school is almost over! We better start studying for finals soon." Said Alya.

"Ugh finals! Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to invent those?? " said Marinette.

The two girls were stressing over the upcoming exams, and also preparing for the summer. Marinette was very excited for summer. She hated school and was excited to be free of it for two months. Of course, she'd miss her friends and dread having to memorize a new schedule when the year started up again in autumn.

" We should totally study together!" Said Alya.

Marinette shook her head in agreement. Of course she would love to study with her friend, Alya had a better understanding of the shit they had to learn in school so it would help Marinette greatly. Marinette tended to block out the teachers on a regular basis and would drift off to la la land for all her classes. Which was enjoyable but she had hell to pay when exams rolled around. Marinette went in for another sip of her coffee, she was hoping it was cool enough now. She grinned in bliss at how good her coffee was now that she didn't burned when she took a sip. While Alya fiddled around on her phone, Marinette took one of the cookies on the plate in between them and slipped into her purse for Tikki to munch on.

"Ugh, I'm starting to wish an akuma would attack so I'd have something to post about on the Ladyblog! People are getting tired of me repeating the same old theories!" Said Alya.

Marinette disagreed with that. She was thankful for the lack of akumas, she was starting to feel kind of like a normal teenager for once. Marinette took another sip of her coffee but wasn't able to savour it. She wasn't able to savour it because of a loud high pitched scream interrupting her.

"Finally!" Said Alya whilst jumping up.

Marinette stood up as well and tried to stop Alya as she ran towards an akuma attack. After losing Marinette in the chaos, Marinette slipped into an alley and transformed.

The akuma, The Dressmaker (so creative), launched large needles at Ladybug. She dodged them effortlessly and whipped her yoyo at The Dressmaker. Ladybug narrowly dodged strands of thread that tried to ensnare her and launched herself at the akuma. She aimed to grab the large bonnet that The Dressmaker wore, that was obviously where the akuma was. The Dressmaker screeched and made to scratch Ladybug with her long purple nails. Ladybug dodged and grabbed the bonnet and ripped the plum coloured fabric. She purified the akuma and threw up her yoyo to clear the damage since she didn't use her lucky charm. Marinette went over to the victim and crouched next to where she sat crying.

"What's your name miss?" Ladybug asked.

"It's Tonya." She sniffed.

"Do you need me to call someone or will you be ok to make it home on your own?" Ladybug asked.

Tonya brushed her red hair away from her face and wiped away her tears.

"I'll be fine. Thank you Ladybug, for everything."

Ladybug smiled at Tonya before leaving.

Later when she looked on the Ladyblog, she saw that Alya got an interview with Tonya. As it turns out, Tonya was a designer that was fired due to a coworker lying to her boss about her. Tonya was 26 and lived alone with a dog. Marinette smiled as she read about her. Marinette never got know the victims and was glad that Alya was able to connect to this woman.

"Tonya seems like a cool girl! Maybe you could work for her one day!" Said Tikki.

Marinette smiled at her friend. It was true that Marinettes was wanted to be a designer, but she couldn't imagine working under someone like Tonya. Tonya seemed like she designed theatre costumes, and Marinette wanted to design actual clothes. But still, Marinette was fascinated by Tonya. Part of Marinette forgot that these people had their lives to live even after being akumatized and how hard it must be to find work sometimes. It must be rather troublesome for these people to have to deal with the aftermath of being a victim of the winged demons. It must be really troublesome.
