The next night, Ladybug was back and she didn't feel resentment to this side of her. Marinette was better from her episode of hate for Ladybug and was ready to take on any akuma that crossed her path. She leapt across the rooftops of Paris and searched for any possible signs of danger. Of course, the only danger she ran into was her flirtatious partner.
"Pleased to see you my lady! It's been far too long." He said.
She rolled her eyes and grinned at him. While she had to keep her secret safe about being Marinette, she still felt joyous in his presence. As the sun set behind her, Chat Noir was awestruck with the way she looked right now. He bit his lip and saw that Ladybug was too, looking at him with desire. He took a step back and the moment was gone. As much as he loved her, the night before he was kissing Marientte and he felt that he would betray her by trying to kiss Ladybug right now.
She smiled at him and turned away and proceeded across the roofs of buildings and he followed. Soon the sun was down and the two of them stood alone under the blazing stars. She looked to him and saw that he was looking at her. She took a step towards him and he responded in a similar fashion. His mind was screaming, he had dreamed of a moment like this for so long and it was actually happening. Here he was with Ladybug leaning into him and looking at him with passion struck eyes. He placed his hands on her hips and brought them up slightly. She drew in a breath and placed her hands draped over his shoulders.
"What are we doing?" She whispered.
"Something that I don't want to end." He leaned in closer.
He gripped her tightly and he pulled her in and kissed her fiercely. This kiss was much different than the one with Marientte, it was more desperate and wild. He held her like he was gonna lose her and she responded to him the same way a dancer responded to music. They moved like a symphony and he could listen to it all night. She was the first to draw back and she looked at him.
"I'm so sorry Chat Noir, this is unfair to you." She said.
He was shocked and hurt when she stepped away from him.
"I like you but there's also another guy that I like and it feels wrong to kiss you when my heart isn't totally with you."
He understood what she meant. He felt the same way too.
"I understand. But may I ask, who is this other boy?"
She hesitated. She knew that telling him would bring him closer to knowing who she was but, when she looked at him, she couldn't say no.
"His name is Adrien Agreste..." She said.
She drew her gaze into the streets below. He was at a loss for words, Ladybug loved both sides of him. It made him think of Marinette.
"Ok. Thank you. And I understand what you mean when you say your heart isn't totally with me. I mean, you aren't the only girl who I like either." He said.
She looked at him. She wanted to know who this girl was.
"Who?" That was the only word she could utter.
"Her names Marinette." He said whilst scratching the back of his neck.
It was ironic really, after all she was Marinette. She was about to speak again when both of their miraculous's beeped and they had to part ways. For the rest of the night, Adrien though about how it would be possible for her to love Adrien. They had only met once and it was a brief interaction, that was unless he knew Ladybug as her civilian self. It drove him mad at the thought. Ladybug could have been right in front of him and he didn't know it. He knew that tons of girls were crazy over him cause of his modelling but the was Ladybug looked when she said his name, she looked like she was whole-heartedly in love with him. He scanned his brain for possible girls who could fit the bill and his mind was drawn to one girl in paticular. Marinette. She too had blue eyes and black hair, she knew him in school and yesterday he had found out from Nino that she had a crush on him. But Marinette didn't seem like she could be Ladybug. While Marinette was clumsy and shy, Ladybug was brave and confident. But still, he couldn't get the two girls out of his head.
Marinette groaned with frustration. Luckily it was muffled by her pillow so her parents wouldn't hear.
"Calm down Marinette, you should be happy he loves both sides of you!" Tikki said.
"I know I should! But he doesn't know me and Ladybug are the same person and I have a feeling that I know this boy out of him being Chat Noir! I just have no idea who he could be!" She said.
Tikki patted the girls head and reassured her it would all work out ok. After all, she should be happy a boy felt so passionately about her and her alter ego, things like that were pretty hard to find. Marinette got up and sighed. She changed into pink sweat pants and a baby blue t-shirt and crawled into bed. She said goodnight to Tikki and curled up underneath the bedsheets. She closed her eyes shut and thought about Chat Noir until she fell asleep.
As Adrien tried to sleep through Plaggs snoring, he thought about how It could be very possible that Ladybug and Marinette were the same person. The thought made him quite happy, it would be perfect if the two women he loved turned out to be the same women. He smiled as he closed his eyes and tuned out Plagg snoring. He settled into a deep and peaceful sleep while Marinettes sleep to a turn towards a nightmare filled night.
