Me and my brother, Leo ran around some tree roots. Today was a beautiful day, it was now leaf blossom season and the weather was perfect.

"Aries I bet you can't run faster then me!" Leo boasted and started running past the tree.

"I can too!" I called after him and bolted after him. He was heading back to our den which was located in a a hole since we were foxes. I leaped through the flower-covered field and swerved around a tree. My brother looked behind him to see me right on his tail. I smirked and charged past him then darted down into our home. "I win!" I cheered.

Leo was panting then he flopped down outside the hole, "No..fair.."

I smiled and padded out of the hole. My brother playfully nipped my ear and pinned me down. We started trying to chew on each others mouths and we looked like alligators fighting. My ears pricked and I turned around to see mother hauling a rabbit towards us.

"Leo stop playing so rough, you know how much bigger you are then your sister." Virgo scolded.

"Sorry mum." Leo sighed and stepped off of her.

She trotted forward and licked his ear then turned to me and licked the dust off of my pelt, "Perfect, time for dinner."

Me and Leo licked our lips and ran to the rabbit. We looked at our mother with pleading eyes and she chuckled then nodded her head. We tore into the soft flesh and start eating with our tails wagging behind us. Mother sat patiently and only came to eat when we had our fill.

She finished it off and walked over to us. We nibbled her muzzle as a sign of thanks. She closed her eyes and smiled and we cleaned the blood off of her. "Did you two have fun today?"

I nodded excitedly, "Yeah! Me as Leo went swimming in the pond that's west of our den." I yipped. "Mum guess what? Today I climbed a tree!"

"Yeah mum! you should have seen her she was like a squirrel!" Leo agreed.

Virgo tilted her head, "Uh.. that's great! I'm so proud of you both you're learning so well. Soon enough you will be able to hunt on your own and you'll be leaving the den, brings tear to my eyes." She sighed.

Leo grinned and put a paw on my head, "Well munchkin here will still near my protecting, shes to small to fight off a badger."

I flattened my ears, "I'm not that small! Anyways I'm finding a territory of my own that's close to mum and yours."

Virgo's fluffy tail waved up and down, "I hope you both stay close to me, I want to visit my grand kits."

Leo shrugged, "I'll see, Cancer doesn't like males near his territory though. Mum what if I live in that forest across the black path when I get older? It's close to yours."

Virgo's eyes widened, "No you must never go there. I was told that foxes who went in that forest never came back."

"Probably because it has such good prey, who would want to leave that?" I suggested.

Mother turned towards the forest, "I don't want to find out, and you won't either." She paused and turned to Leo, "You know your father will allow both of you to live near his territory."

Our father, Cancer, was the leader of this area. He governed any fox within a radius of his territory and chase out any fox he didn't like.

"I want to be like him someday, he's so big and strong." Leo said with bright eyes.

I've only seen our father once, he was a large with a black and silver pelt. He had a scar on his side that he got from chasing a stubborn male off of Virgo's territory. Cancer had lot's of kits, not just me and my brother. I often wished he would visit us more.
