Me and Leo waited patiently in our den. Cancer was growling and pacing outside, "I'm going to take the entire skulk and raid them."
Neither of us dare say anything or move out of the den. Cancer was in his mood and the slightest disturbance would set him off.
His yellow eyes glared down at us, meeting the frightened look of our Amber eyes. "You, I heard you speaking with them. Did you plan this?" He growled.
"Oh course not father," I whimpered dipping my head, "I would never do anything to hurt my kin.. Expecially mum."
His eye narrowed, "Both of you get up here now." He ordered coldly.
Me and Leo slunk out from the burrow in a submissive posture. I saw him with his eyes locked on me but I just looked down.
"Aries, you're not one of us. Now that I've gotten a closer look at you.." He broke off with a growl.
Leo stepped in front of me protectively, "Oh course she's one of us! She's my sister!"
Cancer's ears shot forward, "Don't let her looks deceive you. She's one of them, did you plan this? Did you plan to have my mate and brother killed?!" He snapped.
"N-No I didn't know what those things were!" Tears started streaming down my face, "Mum is gone now because of that silver creature."
Cancer stalked forward towards me, "Idiot! You're one of them! I'm going to get revenge for what your kind did to my brother!" He yelled then pinned me down.
My eyes widened and I shook but I was no match for him. My brother stared in horror as the male lifted a claw ready to strike.
"NO! I won't lose more kin!" Leo howled and pounced on his father. Cancer tried to shake the kit off, "What are you doing Leo? Kill that thing!"
"Run Aries run!" Leo screeched. "Don't turn back!"
"I'll meet you again some day if it's the last thing I do! I love you brother!" I wailed then I bolted towards the black path.
I didn't turn back like Leo said, I kept running. If I was really one of them, they were my only hope. The fox I thought was my father for these countless seasons was now my worst nightmare. The silvery grass brushed through my pelt as I ran, ran for safety.
I successfully ran across the black path and jumped when one of those things went sprinting by. I dashed into the undergrowth and my ears pricked.
"If I ever see you again I'll kill you!" I heard the fox howl as I ran for my life.
I panted heavily, I prayed to the heaven above, Vulpe, that my brother was alright. Tired, frightened, and shocked I padded wearily through the forest. There were tons of trees, I was not used to this at all. We saw the occasional tree on the prairie but never this many together. The stench of those things grew stronger. I had no where else to go, these things are murderers for all I know. I didn't have much of a choice, I took a calming breath then continued onward.
The dewy grass clung to my pelt as I looked around nervously. I didn't see any of these things- cats as Cancer called them. "It's impossible I can't be one of them, my mother and brother are foxes, I'm a fox too!"
I heard a screech and I froze. "There's a fox! Get it!"
My eyes widened and I turned to run but it was too late. There was a golden-yellow cat on me with narrowed eyes. "I caught it I caught it!" It cheered.
Soon enough I was surrounded, three more of them came. One was white, one was grey and white, and there was a smaller one that was dark grey and black.
