I woke up with a yawn and saw Bonebreaker sitting in front of me. He dropped a robin at my paws, "Good morning." He purred.
I smiled and stretched, "Morning, we better head back soon before we get caught."
"We will just hush and eat the bird I caught for us." He meowed and nudged it closer. I smirked and took a bite out of it, "This is amazing."
"I'm glad you like it." He meowed then took a bite.
When we finished I looked at his side, "You really should get that checked out." I sighed with concern.
Bonebreaker licked my ear, "Yeah yeah I'll do it when I get back. We have a gathering tonight so will I see you there?"
"If Spotstar invites me I'll sit by you." I said. "Only if you promise not to tackle me."
Bonebreaker put a paw on my shoulder, "No promises."
We laughed and I stood up and nuzzled his shoulder, "I need to go, bye I should see you tonight."
"I need to tell the clans about Frozenheart, he won't get away. Hopefully their clan won't try to make me come back, maybe I shouldn't tell them I'm Sorrelstar's daughter unless I need to." I turned around and started padding back to camp, rubbing against plants to rid of Bonebreaker's scent.
I padded through the dry pine entrance and looked around. Luckily everyone was still in their dens. My least favorite and only elder just padded out of his den and motioned me over with his tail.
I looked at him wearily but I knew elders were suppose to be highly respected. I stood in front of the black and white tom, "Do you need something Blackfrost?"
He said nothing and placed a paw on my head and looked into my eyes, "That'll do kit."
I gave a puzzled look, "Still think I don't belong here?"
Blackfrost shrugged, "You pull your weight and the weight of others soon. I apologize for being rough when you first got here."
"What do you mean by the weight of others?" I mewled sitting down.
The elder chuckled "You will know soon enough. I have been around since Spotstar was just a mewling kit. I've seen it all over and over again numerous times but never have I seen a cat like you."
"What was the clan like when you were a kit?" I wanted to spend time chatting because I had nothing else to do.
"The leader before Spotstar's name was Mountainstar. He was a real softy and had a big heart. He would let any ol loner or kittypet in, never say why. He wasn't a leader you would want to mess with, that kindness would turn to fire at the flick of tail. His daughter really takes after him." He purred looking at the nursery.
"Silverfox is his daughter?" I asked.
The elder nodded, "Her and her sister Hallowleaf are his and Willowwing's kits."
I stared at him, "Wow I had no idea they were sisters!"
Blackfrost grinned, "Hehe yeah that had different personalities, Hallowleaf was more prickly at first then mellowed out in time."
"Has a cat from a different clan ever came here?" I meowed.
Blackfrost tipped his head back and forth, "Just you I believe."
"W-What do you mean you know I lived across the ThunderPath before this." I stammered, "Could he possibly know about my parents?"
"I'm just yanking your tail." He purred.
