We were headed to Fort Benning now, 125 miles. Along the way we had to keep siphoning gas from other broken down vehicles. Eventually we had to ditch the truck. Meaning, I was riding on the motorcycle with Daryl. Everyone was looking around the abandoned vehicles while I stood by Daryl, trying to figure out how in the world I was going to stay on the bike once we hit the road. "I won't fall off?" I timidly asked as I watched Daryl bringing it off the truck. He grunted as he tried to get the bike on to the floor. Sweat dripped down his forehead as he looked up at me, "Nah." I crossed my arms as my eyes studied the bike. "Hey, need help?" Glenn asked as he walked towards Daryl. Daryl just grunted at him. Glenn muttered, "I'll take that as a yes." as he hopped on to the back of the truck and helped Daryl get the bike down. Once they got it down Glenn was all smiles as he checked out the bike, "Sweet." Daryl scoffed and sat on the bike, "This ain't no toy." Glenn had his hands on his waist, he was breathing hard from helping. "I didn't say it was. I just think it's cool and I've always dreamed of riding one. I've never ridden one before--" Daryl cut him off as he said, "Yeah, well keep dreaming china man." Glenn rolled his eyes, "I'm Korean." Daryl glared at him and shrugged his shoulders, "Whatever. Y'all look the same." Glenn angrily turned to walk away. He was walking my way so I crossed my arms again to hide my wrists since I was wearing a tank top. "Hey Glenn." I smiled, that smile quickly went away as he walked right past me. Weird. As he was walking he looked over his shoulder and coldly said, "By the way tell your friend that when someone does something nice, like helping for example, it's only polite to say thank you." and with that he went inside the RV and slammed the door. I sighed as I turned to look at Daryl. He was cleaning his bike with an old shirt.

"What the hell was that?" I gave him any angry look. Daryl ignored me. I shook my head, "Glenn is such a nice guy. You didn't have to treat him like that. Especially after he did you a favor." Daryl stopped and his jaw clenched tight as he sat up and turned to look at me, "Favor?" Oops. He stood up and started pointing towards the RV, "I ain't ask him for no favor. I ain't ask anyone for help nor will I ever need the help of anyone. Especially not no gook!" I gasped, "Daryl Dixon. I cannot believe you. You are such a dick! There's no need to use those types of words. Who hurt you to make you so cruel?" I didn't even stay for an answer. I walked away until I saw Carol sitting with her daughter at a small picnic table. I sat down across from them and kept my hands under the table. "Hi Ellie. Would you like one?" I smiled as Sophia held out some old crackers. I shook my head, "No thank you sweetie. You eat those, I'm sure you must be starving." Sophia smiled and nodded, "Yes." Carol frowned and hugged Sophia. She looked over at me, "Everything okay?" I let out a deep breath. "Daryl's an asshole." I gasped a bit as I had forgotten Sophia was present. "Sophia, I'm sorry you had to hear that." Sophia gave me a small shrug, "Nothing I haven't heard before." I raised my eyebrows. Carol frowned, "Her father was a vulgar man." Just then I heard Shane's voice behind us, "Ladies. We got enough gas for the RV so we're ready to go." The hairs on the back of my neck stood up from how close he was to me. I didn't dare turn around. Carol smiled, "Okay, let's go Sophia." They stood up and walked to the vehicles. I felt my heart beating fast as I wasn't sure whether Shane had left or not. "Ellie. You know who you're riding with?" he asked. Damn it. I shook my head no. I didn't know what to do. "She's riding with me." I smiled with relief as I heard Daryl's voice coming from behind us. I stood up and turned to find myself inches away from Shane's chest. I looked down at his hands and froze as another flashback hit me. I remembered his hands holding me down, pushing down hard on my chest. He was covering my mouth to keep me from making noise. Next thing I know he was tying the black rag around my mouth... but where was Rick? "Ellie. Ellie." I snapped back into reality as I saw Daryl standing in front of me shaking my shoulder. "Huh?" I saw Shane walking away. Daryl stared at me questioningly, "Another flashback?" I just nodded. He turned and walked back towards the bike, "Come on then. We're ready to hit the road."
