"Do we really have to go?"

Alex looks at me with a rather tired expression on his face and sighs. We're on our way to the pub, where Morgan has his gig. It's freezing and even though I am wearing a big coat and layer over layer like an onion, I'm cold.

"I thought it would be a good idea. And I promised Morgan we'd show up. We don't have to stay too long, just a couple of songs and then we can head home." I say, trying to soothe his crankiness. I really want to go. I've been looking forward to this all week. Finally something that can take my mind off of what happend the other day in that office down the hallway. He did not speak to me, neither did I see him in the office. Apparantly, he is exceptionally good at not being seen or noticed. Which annoys me to death. Must come from his various affairs with married women and having to sneak out late at night.

"Alright. Three songs and then we're off, okay?"

"Sure." I agree and take his hand. "Can you at least pretend that you want to be there?"

"I'd just rather spend the night with you, alone." Alex mumbles, annoyed.

I squeeze his hand and lean against his shoulder. "We'll have all of next week for ourselves."

Alex smiles and gives me a peck on the top of my head. "What a marvellous thing to look forward to."

"Agreed." I whisper and smile back at him.

We continue to walk down a couple of blocks and then arrive in front of the location. It's an old looking house, with a rusty green sign saying 'Murphy's' in golden letters.

"Fancy." Alex says and I give him a nudge.

"Stop judging." I warn him and he opens the door for me.

Music is resounding from the inside and it immediately makes you think you've just been flung to Ireland. Banjos and guitars are being played on stage and an old guy with an enormous grey beard is mumbling something into the microphone. We step in further and even though the place is quite big, it is packed with people. Making our way through the crowd, I spot Morgan talking to some guys in front of the backstage door.

He turns his head and recognises me with a smile. His hair is as always sticking towards every possible direction, almost making him look sleepy. However, his piercing eyes make him look more awake than everyone around him. With big steps he walks towards me and throws his arms around my body.

Morgan leans down and presses his bearded cheek against my face. "You look entrancing." He whispers and I grin. I'm wearing a white mens shirt that I got at target in a 3pack for 9,99$. And an old pair of jeans. So entrancing might be a bit over the top, since Alex is wearing a suit.

"I literally didn't change for you." I whisper, as Morgan lets go of me.

"Wouldn't have expected you to." He admits and turns to Alex. "Is this your man-toy?"

"This is my boyfriend Alexander." I touch Alex's arm. "Alex, this is Morgan, he is my co-worker and the reason why we are here."

"So you're the one who stopped my girlfriend from spending the evening alone with me?" Alex says to Morgan, who smiles, mischievously.

"Sorry, not sorry." He replies and shakes Alex's hand.

I roll my eyes. "Don't you have to be somewhere? Carry something or tune your guitar?"
