It was amazing. The university was not only beautiful, but the people were nice and really polite. I walked through the hallways and finally got to a tiny coffee shop. With all of the stuff that happened with Downey, I had forgot my hangover as well as my need for caffeine.
The guy in the shop, wore a red shirt with a print on it that said 'free hugs', and a beanie. His blond, slightly curly hair didn't quite fit under the beanie, which almost let it fall off.
"What can I get you?" He asked, with a surprisingly proper british accent, leaning over the counter.
I smiled back at him. "Just a black coffee would be perfect."
The guy started to laugh and turned around. "Somebody has got a hangover."
"Yes, had a long night."
Scratching his head, he took a paper cup out of one shelf and pushed some buttons on the coffee machine.
"You're not a student." He noticed. "What brings you here?"
His blond hair brought out the green in his eyes. And every time he looked up, they sparkled a bit in the California sunlight.
"No I'm not. I'm a senior from North High, I'm just visiting with my class. But I applied a couple of weeks ago." I replied.
The machine stopped and he handed me the cup.
"That would be 1,50 please." He said. "If you want to, I could show you around. I'm Will, by the way." He grabbed my hand, I raised an eyebrow.
"Only if I get the free hug, you promised."
Will laughed, coming around the counter. "I already like you."
I nodded. "I know, I have that affect on people."
"I'm sure you do." He replied with a wink. "I'm just gonna close the shop."
We walked outside, out on the campus.
"So what exactly are you studying here?" I asked him, as we sat on the big grass field in the back of the main building.
His smile showed a row of beautiful white teeth. "I chose to study music and film. Always wanted to be composer for films."
"Why?" I asked again.
Will turned towards me. "Have you ever imagined watching a film without music?"
I shook my head.
"Its horrible. There is no emotion, no character or atmosphere." He continued. "Nothing. And I think that the right music in the right scene, gives you the best feeling in the world."
His eyes lightened up as he talked.
"The best feeling, hm?" I said, teasing him a bit.
Loud laughter came from his throat. "Not as good as looking at a beautiful women."
I carefully punched him in his left thigh. "You're so cheesy!"
We talked about music and movies, past and future, life and books. And when the sky got darker, we both stood up, looking at each other.
Throwing an arm around my shoulder, he started to walk towards the building again. When we reached the front entrance, he turned to me. "I am really sorry to tell you that I still have a couple of classes to go to. So I won't be able to drive you home, but I am giving you my number. So call me, when you are ready for more cheesiness or dinner& a film, alright?"
I smiled at him and took the little piece of paper he handed me, showing a number. Will opened the door for me and took of his beanie, running his hands through his hair a couple of times, just to put it back on again.
In the main hall, many students rushed beside each other, chatting and laughing. Suddenly there was a loud noise...laughter... a lot of laughter. There I could see a little crowd of girls standing around someone. And not to my surprise, the someone was Professor Downey himself. He talked with large gestures and a cheeky grin on his face. The girls around him, seemed to be from the University, most of them were quite pretty. Will and I started to walk in their direction and suddenly he put his arm around my shoulder again. I didn't move it away, I kind of liked the idea of him being so close next to me. Feeling his head turn towards me, I looked up to him. Only to see him smile down at me, giving me a wink.
Again, loud laughter. I looked over to them, seeing Downey reaching out his arm over the girl next to him. That's when he looked over and would have caught me, if I wouldn't have looked away quickly. Right as we walked past the group standing around him, the laughter stopped, I heard him clear his throat and in the corner of my eye I could see him pulling his hand from the girls shoulders, staring at us with an angry look on his face. Without success I tried to hide my smile. Will and I reached the door and stepped outside, walking slowly towards the bus station.
"Well, there we are." He said, lifting his arm from my shoulder.
"Thank you for showing me around."
The sun had hidden behind the clouds, which had appeared during the day.
"Oh, it was my pleasure. Had a marvellous day. And ring me if you get home."
I looked in his light green eyes and got lost for a little while.
When he cleared his throat, I came back to reality, blushing a bit.
"Yes, of course. Ehm... I'm gonna go now. See you later, Will." I said, turning around and waving back at him. Will waited, until I got on the bus and it drove past him.
A bit more than an hour later on the bus, I realised that I had to get of at school. This bus wouldn't get me to my area. So I got off at the bus station in the front of our school, only to find out that I had to walk home. Because the bus I needed, wouldn't drive for another 4 hours.
I sighed, this can't be true.
So I started to walk down the road, through the suburbs of Los Angeles, with cars passing me, quickly, with higher speed than permitted. I brushed my fingers through my hair, hearing a voice behind me.
"You do know that boys from university are not as great as they seem."
I turned around, alarmed. Just to stare into a pair of dark hazel eyes and a Mr.-Know-It-All-Smile, peeking out of the window from a black car.
"Oh my god Downey. It's like you're obsessed with me or something. Why are you so in love with me?"
The smile faded away. "No. You did it wrong."
I frowned. "Excuse me?"
He rolled his eyes. "Your quote isn't right. It goes: Why are you so obsessed with me? It's like you're in love with me or something."
"I really am kind of scared of your incredibly accurate Mean Girls knowledge." I replied, starting to walk again.
I heard the wheels moving on the street and could see the car slowly driving beside me.
"We all have our special talents."
I frowned and leaned a bit down, to have a clear look at him. "You know, firstly I thought your special talent was stalking, but now...well, you probably are the only men at the age of 60 who has an obsession with Mean Girls. You should really be proud of that!"

...
......
........

"Get in the car."
It was his answer. Fast. Short. With an undertone of peevishness.
Determined I shook my head. "No."
"Get. In. The. Car. Aria."
"I won't drive with you. You're creeping me out. I don't like creepy people." I answered, starting to walk faster.
He increased the speed.
"Get in or you will regret it."
He talked very slowly, clearly. Which freaked me out more and more. I just wanted him to leave and at the same time I wanted him to talk to me, just so I could hear his voice.
"Don't you frighten me, old man."
Suddenly, as I was just about to cross a street, he pulled into the street and stopped the car right in front of me. I couldn't move, shocked from his action.
"What are you doing? You could have killed me!!" I screamed at him.
He opened his door and grabbed my waist with his right, closing the door with his left hand. Almost hammering me against the back door.
"I told you I would show you how much of a fucker I am!" He said, trying to calm himself down, trying not to shout at me.
"But you silly little girl wouldn't listen!"
I had looked at him, had looked in his eyes, I had seen ....anger...boredom...amusement, but this time there was something I'd never seen before.

Dark, longing, invincible ...lust.
