*Katie's POV*

Beep. Beep. Beep

That was the thing that woke me up. The beeping of a machine. I slightly opened my eyes to see I wasn't in my bedroom. All I could see was a bare room. It was too bright so I winced my eyes shut.

"Hey" A voice said, probably Luke. I reopened my eyes to get a surprise, this definitely wasn't Luke, it was Calum.

"Wha-" I tried to sit up but winced at the pain that shot up through my back.

"No, no, no. Lie down you're meant to rest."

I furrowed my eyebrows and lay back down like Calum had told me to.

"Why are you even here? Why am I here?"

"Don't you remember? You went in to protect that boy that was getting beat the shit out of, then they turned to you-" Calum was interrupted by the nurse coming in.

"Ahh Katie, you're awake" I simply nodded. "Now you are very lucky" The nurse continued to say. "If it wasn't for Mr Hood here, you may not still be here."

I gulped at the thought. I could have died. But Calum saved me.

Calum.

Like the bully Calum.

"Anyway, just rest here for a while and you can go home tomorrow" The nurse said.

I gave him a smile and a nod before he left the room, leaving just me and Calum alone.

"So I uh- I guess I should thank you" I said.

Calum simply nodded, "It's nothing, no girl should be hurt like that."

I bit my lip and nodded. I took my arms out from under the covers, to get my phone, when I realised, I had short sleeves on.

I never wear short sleeves.

"C-Calum, I need my sweatshirt" I said quickly putting my arms back under.

He furrowed his eyebrows "Katie I don't thin-"

"Calum. Please"

He sighed and got up and went into a clear bag with my clothes.

"You can't wear this Katie, It's covered in blood."

I began to panic, I can't hide my arms under here for ever.

"I-I need something long sleeved Calum!"

"Um..." He said thinking "Here, take mine." He pulled his sweatshirt over his head and that left him in just a black tee, very tight on his body. I'd be lying if I said he didn't look a tiny bit attractive, but then again he has a shit personality so...

"Thank you" I said taking it and quickly putting it over, suddenly feeling more relaxed.

That was close.

The next day the nurse told me I could go home, so I was currently in the waiting area, waiting for Joy to come pick me up. I felt extremely bad, and I was prepared for the shouting from her.

She pulled up with Keith and Calum in the back seat of the car and I went out.

"Joy I'm so sor-" I was interrupted by her hugging me.

"Oh Katie! Are you alright?" She asked me, pulling away to look at me "Ohh look at your face!"

"I'm fine Joy, honestly, I'm so sorry for causing this much trouble."
