*Katie's POV*

I was in Chemistry just doodling on my jotter when the bell went. The school had been crazy all day with people going to buy tickets for the dance. I was planning on buying mine at lunch so here I was waiting in the line just watching everyone.

When I got to the front I saw Luke sitting in the seat, I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at him.

"Okay, why would you choose to spend your lunch doing this?" I laughed.

He just glared at me, "Like I would choose to do this" He laughed, as I joined in.

Just then Calum walked over with Michael and handed Luke a slice of pizza from the lunch hall.

Michael smiled at me slightly, but I just brushed it off, we hadn't spoke in ages so.

"Okay, anyway, I'll have 2 please" I said smiling at Luke as he ate his pizza.

"So Ashton said yeah? No surprise there" Luke chuckled with his mouth full as I glanced at Calum who rolled his eyes.

I handed him the money and he gave me 2 tickets.

"Thank you" I said putting them in my back jean pockets.

"Hey, Calum, wanna be my date?" Michael said with his mouth full of pizza.

"Yeah man" Calum replied, his mouth full of pizza as well. They placed lots of coins on the table while Luke started to shout at them, telling them they had to pay with proper money.

I decided now would be a good time to leave, so I did.

I had left the house half an hour before my appointment and walked to the hairdressers.

I pushed the door open and went to the desk I was at a couple of days ago.

"Hi, I have a hair appointment?" I said to the receptionist.

"Name?" She asked me.

"Katie Mitchell" I replied smiling as she messed around on her computer.

"Okay, have a seat" She said smiling and gesturing towards the waiting area.

I sat down and picked up a magazine and flicked through it. I started to think about what I could wear for the party tonight. I didn't have many dresses so I'd probably have to buy one, not that I actually had any money to buy any.

"Katie?" A man asked looking at the few customers that were in the waiting area.

"That's me" I smiled and stood up, I followed him to the seat in front of the mirror.

"Okay, so what can I do for you today?" He asked looking at me in the mirror.

"I just want a change.. no bright colours, I just don't want to be singled out because of my hair" I said looking back at him in the mirror.

"Alright, I can do that" He smiled and put the black coat over me.

I had my eyes shut, I was scared on how my hair was going to turn out. What if I didn't suit it at all?

But I was also excited, I needed a change. I did trust the hairdresser, he was talking to me the whole time about his boyfriend and he was asking me where I was going and what my date was like. I told him all about Ashton.

"So I hope this is natural enough for you" He said, "1..2..3, open!"

I opened my eyes and gasped.
