*Katie's POV*

"Here you go, have a nice day" I smiled and handed the Starbucks cup over to the customer.

"Okay, first concert?"

"Uhmm, I think it was the Spice Girls" I laughed as I wiped down the counter.

Ashton and I were asking each other questions as the shop wasn't as busy as it usually was.

No one had mentioned my birthday, that was tomorrow, since last Sunday when Joy brought it up. I was fine with it though, I didn't want people making a big thing out of it.

"Guys here's your pay checks" Our boss, Aimee said as she came out holding two slips of paper.

"Thank you" We both said as we checked the time, realising our shift was finished.

Ashton offered to drop me home but I decided to walk. Before I headed home I walked into the graveyard, I had to visit Keith, I'd been visiting him almost everyday.

I sat down next to the grave stone and began to tell him about my day.

"So..Calum.." I began as I got comfortable.

I woke up to a quiet house which was something I wasn't used to, I mean the house wasn't so noisy it woke me up but I still didn't hear anything.

I got up and headed to my bathroom to brush my teeth, in doing so I heard a knock at my door so I went and opened it to see Joy.

"Hey" I smiled as I invited her in and went to spit out the toothpaste.

"Hello, birthday girl."

I smiled and she sat a gift bag on my desk as I looked to it then back to her.

"Whats that?" I smiled.

"A present, silly" She laughed.

"Joy you didn-"

"Katie, just open it" She laughed as I joined, opening it. I pulled it out to see a frame with a picture we had taken in Disneyland, Joy, Mali, Calum, Keith and I.

"I love it Joy, thank you so much" I said as I hugged her, she definitely became a mother figure to me, "Oh and here" I said as I picked my paycheck up from my desk and handed it to her.

"No, no Katie I can't-"

"Yes, please just have it".

"Oh, you're something special Katie" She smiled as she gave me a hug and stood up.

"Hey where's Calum?" I asked as I stood up.

"He's out with his friends, but do you mind doing a message for me? I need to hand in this letter at the post office?"

"Yeah, of course" I smiled as I set my frame on my desk.

"Thank you" She smiled as she left and closed the door behind her.

A part of me was a bit upset that Calum didn't wish me a happy birthday but I did say not to make a big thing about it so I couldn't be annoyed.

After showering and straightening my hair I put on a pair of high waisted shorts with a greenday top and I walked downstairs to see Joy had left a note on the table telling me where I was to go.

I put my earphones in and walked to the post office.

After walking in, it took me a while to actually post it, the woman behind the desk wasn't helping me in the slightest.
