"The doctor told me to tell him when you wake up," Alec awkwardly rubs the back of his neck. He's adorable when he's uncomfortable and that's a lot of times when he's around me. His hair is flipped back and the light makes the oil more visible.

"Okay. I'll go to him now." I head towards my room. I can hear footsteps behind me so I know Alec won't leave my side for awhile which makes me wonder where Apollo is after all this time.

"Hey doctor---woah, dude." When I pop my head inside, the doctor is under the covers and unless he has extra lady legs there's someone under there with him.
Just disgusting.

"Dude you're like a hundred years old. If you want to fuck, go home." I cover my mouth and rush towards anything that can be a container. I finally catch sight of a flowerpot nearby and I let loose.

"Miss. Fray, are you alright?" The doctor asks looking more clothed now.

"Yeah-" I pause to look down at the flowerpot.

"I'm fine. I'm sorry about your flowerpot," I turn to Alec and frown, wiping the rest of what I threw up off the corner of my lips.

"It's fine. I didn't even know these things were there till just now." He flashes a big smile, and I think he didn't mean for me to see it because it quickly disappears and he awkwardly clears his throat.

"Can you take me to my room that doesn't have any IVs or anything that screams death and hospital?" I ask. Since I've been here, I'm either trying to keep the peace or in a hospital bed and it's getting exhausting. Alec helps me up and clinging to his arm, we turn and walk and turn and walk until we arrive at a ghost town of a hallway where the carpeted floors transform to wooded panels and the Victorian part of the home becomes a modern artsy type area. It's very nice and I feel more at home here than in the hospital bed.

"Home," I whisper to myself thinking back to my parents, my brother, and my best friends.

"Huh?" Alec asks.

"When will I be able to go home?" Once the question leaves my lips, the air thickens with tension and Alec groans.

"Don't worry about that."

"What do you mean don't worry?" I pull away from him and stop walking, forcing him to turn around and listen.

"You can't just expect me to stay here like your prisoner. I have my family and my best friends. I want to go back home." I demand, folding my arms.

Alec starts towards me, the only sound is the floorboards creaking under his feet. I hold my ground even though he's taller than me.

"I promise that I'll take you home, okay?" He places his large, calloused hands onto my arms to try and reassure me but I shake them off.

I lean closer into him and bring his chin down with my hand.

"I won't be bullied by you or your family. They're my kids just as much as they're yours and I own myself. You got that?"

"Yes. I got that. Now come on." He grabs my arm and we head towards the room at the end of the hall.

Once we got inside, I look around the large space. It was like a whole separate home from the entire palace. The room led to other rooms and it was nicer and more bright than the rest. The bright red walls were smooth along with a big round bed with the biggest pillows I've ever seen.

"This is amazing! Why is it so big, though?"

Alec clears his throat awkwardly and tugs at the roots of his dark hair. He's hiding something.

"What? Tell me."

"My dad wants you to stay here till the twins  come,"

"Why? And what makes him think that I'll stay here to be of his service?"

"He thinks it's for your protection. To keep you safe from the rogues and everyone else who sees you as an easy threat."

"Easy threat? Please."
"This isn't a joke. The minute we conceived, our pups have been a threat to every wolf who wants to seize the throne and every rogue who doesn't want a power to exist anymore. I want to protect you." His voice softens and my temper fades because of it

"If I have to stay here. I just want to see my friends and ask if they want to stay here with me."

"I don't think that's a good idea, Valentina."

"If I'm going to be here, I want to have someone who'll talk to me about something other than my twins and our bond. Is that so wrong?"

"Okay. We'll go tomorrow I promise." He gives me a smile and I take a deep breathe.

"Okay. Now go shower. I'll be right outside of you need me." He says and starts for the door.

"No. Stay with me. Please." I plead, grabbing his hand. I see a flicker of yellow in his eyes and he nods his head and goes to sit on the desk away from the bed.

I'm so excited. Tomorrow I'm going to be able to see my friends and my family. I just hope that my dad won't be angry or Tobias. I just pray that my pack won't feel betrayed that I'm carrying the future leaders of the Bloodmoon Delta pack.
